Hello,
I’m looking at transferring my hunter from SWC over to AD but his name - Elraen - has been taken. A cursory armoury search doesn’t yield any results so I’m assuming the name is currently parked on a lvl1 character taking up space.
If anyone here owns the account with this name on I’m interested in taking it off you. I can be found on AD Alliance side as Krom, or Horde as Jufang.

OP, I don’t know how much success people usually have in getting names but I wish you luck, and in any case, welcome to AD.

GMs almost never do this sort of thing anymore.

Kump: GMs don’t manually unlock names anymore and you can’t open a ticket about them unless it’s to appeal a name change. In-use names get unlocked automatically if the account has been inactive for 2 consecutive expansions. If the account is still being played on though and the name is just parked on an alt then it won’t get unlocked.
I hate to say this, but your chance on getting that name is close to zero. An active account is using that name now, even though the character might not be played. Your only chance is to track down whoever it has and reason with them.
Also: Edit your topic name to include the name you’re looking for. It might catch their attention or someone who knows the owner of that name.
Good shout with the title name, should probably have done that from the outset.
I realise the chances of finding the person who owns the account are slim but the realm forums were the best place to look I thought.
It’s also the case that many names are occupied on AD and people put their IC name in TRP, so you could have the surname as the character name or something 
I’d definitely echo the above and recommend trying the surname instead. Then simply state your full name in your RP-profile.
