Hey
been playing dh havoc for the last 2 months and have to say after a while its get realy boring , ya double jump is nice and the moblity it has
but i feel like im a 5-6 skills class cant see eye beam animation XD (heard blizz made all class like this )
and i remember the days in wotlk that classes required more and the rotation were better ,
looking for new dps class to play what do you reccomend ?, usually being playing mele only but if its fun caster so ill give it a shot
have a good day
Have a look at Windwalking Monk
If you’re into the fast paced, good mobility melee action of DH, WW Monk is a good alternative. It’s not too much of a difference though. Fists of Fury kind of plays a bit like Eye Beam in a sense that it’s a channeled ability, hard hitting and an integral part of your damage-dealing kit.
The real difference is that WW monk plays more defensively than Havoc.
Also you have the aesthetic situation of one-handed weapons ALWAYS going on the back. Some people are more bothered by visual limitations than others, that’s why I mention it.
If you want a ranged option I recommend trying Survival Hunter. Yes, the spec is technically also melee, but the spec consists of weaving in ranged abilities a lot of the time. You even have an ability that turns your only melee ability, into a ranged one. The downside to Survival is that it feels a little awkward at times. Your pet is squishy and prone to getting killed. Without your pet, you can’t build your resource or use certain utility options.
Finally I also recommend Frost or Fire Mage. They’re both relatively fast paced just like Havoc. They aren’t too complicated either.
A fair warning though, both Mage and Hunter are both incredibly squishy. Their defensive options are based around avoiding incoming damage, rather than healing it.
Good luck.
Try anything else, but you will go back fast after getting the realization that DH is just to OP to let it slide. If been trying enchantment shaman, and i knew it wasnt the best but compared to DH made me realise that DH should be deleted from the game. Thats how OP i find DH.
Just like always with things like these you should always try classes out yourself and see what you think is fun and what fits you. Its you whos going to be playing it, not the internet, after all.
If you want to have fun with DH you need to play PvP.
No matter the class game uses more buttons in PvP.
Demon Hunter needs also to work on positioning harder than most other classes so he gains even more complexity by going PvP.
We are not squishy, we just don’t like melee. Our def toolkit is fantastic. That being said we will not be fast paced come 9.0. Fireblast during cast makes it feel a bit faster than it really is but the difference in pace between mage and dh is huge, especially frost and arcane.
Shadow priest is very fast paced and very fun atm but looking awful for 9.0. I love a bit of survival but the rotation feel more like a ranged spec and a melee spec at odds with each other.
Why not try out a healing or tanking spec just as a change.
If you feel you have too few buttons, it could be that you are playing too easy content. I would personally recommend trying some high end Mythic raiding, 2+k arena or doing high Mythic+ keys.
High end content will often put such a high tax on your attention that your shortage of buttons will be the last on your mind, especially when you are new to it.
And even if your rotation had only been 1-2 buttons, there is always something you can do better, even if you are just a warlock spamming Shadowbolts in Classic. When raiding, I can often find 3-5 things that I did wrong/could improve on a boss kill. And no matter how well you do, there’ll always be a nerdier/sweatier git who parsed higher than you on that boss that you’ll want to dethrone.
Maybe it’s just me, but no matter how seemingly easy/complex a class is, I always find room for improvement.
While I don’t go ham on mythic keys, the mid level ones I’m currently doing made skills muscle memory. I don’t know what damage spells I’m pressing half the time, my brain just does it. I’m more concerned about target swapping, positioning, using defensives, keeping an eye on health bars so they do/ don’t die at the same time depending on affixes, checking where my team members are so we don’t Quake each other and so on.
Higher level play shifts the focus from looking at the bars to looking at the screen and what’s going on there.
Even if I had 20 buttons in my rotation it’d be the same muscle memory playing the class. Old school shadow had plenty of buttons and snapshotting was a thing there and the same thing happened. Eyes on the encounter, your brain does the button pressing.
