Looking for some GPU advice

So I bought a second hand 2060 super, nice upgrade from my 980 that I had, world of difference.

Had it for a few months, suddenly temps are spiking, no changes to other hardware, given it’s a second hand card am I right in thinking it’s the Thermal Paste that needs reapplying?, was perfectly fine temps were stable until a few days ago, drivers all up to date etc, since it’s a second hand card I have no idea when the paste was last done if it ever was since new.

Am I on the right line of thinking?

Most likely yes.

Just to be sure, did you change anything before the temps went up?
Like playing with uncapped FPS or raising the FPS cap?
Do you have a set FPS limit?

I did the thermal paste last night, and that’s precisely what it was, the Thermal Paste had erm shall we say seen better days, the previous owner had clearly never done it.

It’s acting like a brand new card again! :smiley:
