Pretty much all my friends are already playing (the few who aren’t have no interest), any suggestions on how to find randos to recruit?
In my experience, to get friends to play the game you need to
Get them the game for free
Get them the game time for free
Also most of the time they won’t be playing anyway because their girlfriend doesn’t like the sound of the mouse clicking
To be honest whether or not they play is not too much of a relevance to me, I just want the rewards without having to pay for two accounts simultaneously.
You could try somewhere like
There must be other places like this.
honestly, from my experience if you dont know anyone in real life, there is almost no way of getting around the fact that you will have to pony up for someone elses play time or at least buy the game.
punys link is great but matter of fact is that those people who are seeking someone to recruit vastly outnumber the ones who wish to be recruited (for obvious reasons). so chances you ll find someone who signs up for free are somewhat slim. there are people offering to pay for play time/buy the game, offer to boost in game, giving gold, buying looms etc. you just have to be lucky i guess if you dont want to provide any “perks”. playing on a desireable realm helps too i suppose.
maybe have a look but not sure how current it is anymore:

trying it here on the forum would be worth a shot as well i guess? i d try it at as many places as possible if i were you.
good luck to you regardless!
I just bit the bullet and swallowed the costs and subbed myself on a second WoW on my bnet.
It’s a shame there is no nice easy way to match up with people interested in playing.
Step 1: Craft a char on a server marked with “New”.
Step 2: Run around, check ppls achievement points (and date!), remember, there is this 7 day stuff nowdays.
Step 3: If you find a player that have a account less then 7 day old, try trade them for 1 sec and move away. (if it says “trail account cant trade” i say, find another, unless you wanna start asking them if they are enjoying the game and might wanna buy the full version at some point).
Step 4: Be friendly!, chat with them if you find someone that have all the check marks (less then 7 day old, new, got the game ect).
Thats mostly what i do, have like 5-6 ppl RaF’ed atm, you be suprice how many are even just returning player.
First i do those step’s i added, then if i find someone, i start to chat with em…mostly goes like this:
Hey, new to wow or just a returning player ^^?
They then reply with either been new or returning.
If returning player, you can ask them what expansion they stopped at and then explain some of the new stuff added since then, to get the chat going.
If they are new, simple ask them if they enjoy wow so far.
I dont really get to personal with em (like asking for gender, age ect)…i just keep it game related.
After chatting with them for like 10-30 min…i normal break the ice with asking them if they know about the RaF system.
I then explain what its about and how it only reward the veteran and that they basically get nothing out of it…however, i will be really happy if they do let me recruit them.
I then (depent on how the chat with them goes) explain that i can help them with stuff ingame…like:
If veteran player that returning, i can offer them a full set of heirlooms (that they get the insta the RaF is there + 2-5k gold and 4 x 26+ bags).
If a new player, they be happy with just 2-5k gold and the 4 x 26+ bag slots ^^.
If they then aggre with the RaF stuff, i ask them to add me on thier Battle net list, so we can always chat, since i have tons of alts that i log on all the time.
I then via the battle net send them the RaF link, so they can click it.
After that, i once again thank them for letting me RaF them and from there on, i just help them with question they might have to the game ^^.
Most of the time, i do tell a new player aswell if they know how to put on auto loot on, or how to add more action bar or how to add target to mini map ect…simple but helpfull stuff that make them enjoy the game just a bit more.
The way i help them with heirlooms (if they are from another server) is to guide them to craft a char on my server, i then use the “summon friend” to get them to the vendor, i then hand them the gold to buy a full set for thier class and then explain how they can just open the tab on thier own server and then craft the gear there.
A tip to send gold cross server (in order to help RaF ppl on other server then your main) is to simple cage pet you have and craft a char (lvl 110 trial) on thier server (do be mindfull about the limit time a trial char have).
But, that way, you can easy send tons of gold cross server and thereby give them some nice 26+ bags (depent on the server size, full = price are lower = can easy buy 30 slots).
Trail char are also nice for some raw gold (WoD), just do the bonus missions there and you can easy rap up some gold that you can then give them or buy bags for then give them the leftover.
Bonus: If they are alliance char, try farm Gran (or whatever the wolf at the horde start zone in WoD is callled).
TLDR: Kindness goes a long way.
Chat with new player ingame.
