Looking to start a Horde character - is Mograine good?

I want the most active PvP realm with an English speaking community, is Mograine a good option for that?

I can’t say from my own experience, since I played only Alliance on that realm, what could go wrong with rolling new character on high population Horde mono-faction realm though?
Mograine for sure is active for Horde and majority of the entire realm population should be speaking English. Only thing is that you won’t experience much Open World PvP.

What realm would you recommend for a better PvP experience?

Problem with WotLK Classic is that there are technically no PvP Realms anymore.
Ashbringer is almost completely empty.
Jin’do is almost completely empty.
Thekal still have players on both factions, but there are topics on forums reporting that entire population of Thekal is declining.
Earthshaker is Alliance only.
Firemaw is Alliance only.
Mograine is Horde only.
Gehennas is full and Horde only.
Golemagg is full and Horde only.

There is no point in listing other language realms since you are asking for English speaking community, but they are basically the same. Either low population or mono-faction.

Open World PvP is simply not thing in WotLK Classic. Only PvP you get is in Battle Grounds and Arena which AFAIK is cross-realm or duel with other players from your faction.

Thanks. I see that PvP is now a rare occasion. But if I was to start one hoping for the most active community,

Gehennas and Golemagg would be the most populated realms? And Firemaw or Earthshaker the most populated alliance realms?

Yes they are, for PvP realms anyway.

Can we please stop using useless Blizzard’s server tags? There is no actual PvP realm that isn’t dead.

Dead and balanced are not the same thing. Some PvP realms are thriving but one sided.

If you want to world PvP your best bet is rolling a faction dominant server and picking the opposite. Be ready to get solo level and get ganged up on.

There exists no balanced server, Mograine is a thriving horde server with a very small number of alliance players. Gehennas is an overcrowded Horde server with no alliance players, Golemagg much the same.

Personally I think Gehennas server is the best, because you can do anything at any hour, but it’s very laggy in Dalaran/AH during peak times.
