What will happen to the item? Is Lord Walden’s Hat (and possibly High Society Top Hat) going to become transmoggable for “cosmetic” because it is listed as with no type, but i believe it was set as cloth in database.

Hope so because I kept mine.
I do hope it’ll become a cosmetic item. Since all worgen get it during the starting zone, not just clothies.

Yeah, exactly. And i think it should be. We already have one top hat, that is just cloth and i would love to have one on my Dracthyr, since they are restricted only to mail. Maybe someone who knows how the database works can provide some idea about it?

White transmog is coming very soon, so there is a chance that it will be cosmetic!
In fact the PTR is up, I will test that right away and come back with the results.

I have bad news, so far the hat is not included in the transmog changes. 
BUT, the good news is that white and grey items are working great, even the original Gilnean starter gear is unlocked for transmog (I guess you have to level a new character if you don’t have them in your bank or bags).
Oh come on…
And “High Society Top hat”? It should use the same model with different texture.
I have no idea about that, so far you can only level new characters or create level 60 template ones on the PTR, no character copy yet…
Since I have the hat on the PTR, I will report a bug asking if they can include it as well.

How does the system work anyway? Automatic addition after any char acquired it? Because previously, items had to be char-bound to be added, but white and gray are not bindable.
Now they are bind on equip and you actually have to equip them to unlock, it’s not automatic when you get the quest reward.
But keep in mind it’s still on PTR, it could change again when it’s released.

I hope that they will change this before it goes live… So far the only usable thing is the Duskhaven top hat, but that is limited only to cloth wearers.

Yeah, I guess it has to work this way, because otherwise you could add and then trade them away, and that would be a mess, even if it auto-removed them again.
P.S.: If I intended to, I could probably get filthy-rich, because I am a holder of Lithe Boots.
They will change that aspect as far as I know.

Why Worgen only. I would go with it being for all, just like High society hat. Its very unigue look and not that many hats are in game.
But i am not kind of very sad, because my Gilnean druid can have this as part of his transmog, because he is leather as any druid. And while coats have leather counterpart, hats do not. 
This makes me wonder: When was the last time anyone has seen anyone in partial or even full non-ideal armor class gear? Like a balance druid in cloth or such.
Would be pretty rad to do it just for style. (And maybe even tough to find an outfit that still stands out, considering how loose the style boundaries of armor classes are.)
