I was wondering, what’s the lore of our time running characters (if there’s any)? I mean, are they recruits/soldiers of the infinite dragonflight? Where have they originated from? What’s their purpose? I feel like I’m missing something about my background when my new character spawns on a beach together with Eternus

I’ve heard rumors that this timewalking event is supposed to be cannon in Retail, and that the Infinite dragonflight are conducting a temporal investigation of sorts lead by Eternus under the direction of Nozdormu. Were observing and looking for something but we don’t know what yet as we play through the events of the past.
My money is on it having something to do with Y’Shaarj. We know Iridikron/Xal’atath can time travel so maybe someone went back and altered something or plucked something important out of the timeline. Probably some key event that’s part of the ‘true’ timeline that went unnoticed until now, as convoluted as that sounds.

No story. It’s an event like Plunderstorm.
I kinda doubt that they would put very important story content in a time-limited event that’ll be gone in 3 months. The time dragons may refer to it vaguely, and there might be sopm foreshadowing of time-related plots, but that’s about as far as it can reasonably go.
Not that I expect anything particularly important, more like a sort of background. Like, the other characters originated in their starting zones as common guys, what about these? Random people helping Eternus?
