Lore behind Vulpera Warlocks?

Vulpera have that as an idle animation.

…which only lasts a moment.

A moment is all it takes for degeneracy to taint the area.

Not a fan of them becoming any caster apart from shaman but I suppose unless you roleplay as an elder Vulpera or simply consider the character you play as a veteran then for new characters they could’ve simply been trained by people after joining the Horde.

The leveling process is your training, not that that’s perfect or anything.

Limiting the amount of classes allied races(or any race really) can be would kinda make them more unique in my mind, could just be me though.

I really don’t see any reason for why they couldn’t be warlocks. There’s a rather thin line between a mage and a warlock and Vulpera aren’t exactly adhering to any set morals or principles that would prohibit them from exersicing that power. They’re survivers in a harsh land and sometimes to survive you need to employ unconventional tactics and methods.

Did you somehow skip literally all of Suramar?

Felborne don’t exist in Suramar dear.

Yeah…but if u roleplay or just decided to play dreani…then you r not that dreani that will have the choice to go outlaw…you r simply a champion of the light and the alliance.

Well, I wasn’t a fan of them either….however that one thread on MMO-C and my twinbrother’s dank humor convinced me to have atleast one Vulpera, and yes, high chance it’ll be a warlock as it is a class I don’t have yet.

If I can have one with a disgusting smirk…it’ll just be to much to pass up on, forgive me my weakness.

On the other hand, I think I’m 10% of the (HM) Tauren playerbase all by myself, so people will probably call me a disgusting furry anyway.

For some reason people seem to think vulperas & worgens are the only furry races … i’ve heard people ‘‘quitting wow because they added furries to the game’’ even though we already had tauren, pandaren & worgen, this confuses the hell out of me on what the wow community means when they think ‘‘Furry’’

Even if we ignore the ideas that they may have been inspired by Horde Warlocks, Zandalari Demoniacs or the Alliance Despoilers that raided their supply trains, I think the answer should be very simple:

The Vulpera are a race of small, physically weak, eminently flammable people with no strong national identity, government or military to protect them. The closest thing they had to a “capital city” was a series of tunnels in the ground where they slept, until the Sethrak came and raided the place for slaves and met almost no opposition.

It should be quite self-evident that the Vulpera would want some advantage - ANY advantage - to survive in a world so openly hostile to them. And Demons do love to approach desperate people - all the easier to ensnare them in a pact that benefits the Demon far more than the Warlock. Vulpera have no particular fondness for the natural world (it keeps trying to eat them) or for the practices of foreign religions that don’t concern them, so why would they reject Fel? Why would they shun a pact with a Demon?

They are the perfect victims of Demon predation, and with the Horde’s help it shouldn’t be too hard for them to help tame that predation and become more-or-less productive Warlocks, just like Orcs, Blood Elves and Nightborne all have been before them.

Oh yeah I forgot, everyone who thinks playing as a little cute fox is nice wants to bang animals and stuff…

Zandalari warlocks? Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

Oh they’ve learned it from the Alliance shamans and mages that burned their caravans used for Horde war campaign… to learn how to warlock.

Or maybe they just ummm learned it cause ummm… yeah?

See, this is the kind of apologistic talk, when you should just admit that you simply like “a cute wee fox in a cute pointy hat shooting big bad shadowbolts” whether it’s nonsense or not and that this is plain and rather desperate fanservice towards certain already named fandom :joy:

Featured all the way back in Vanilla with Zul’Gurub content. I guess you’re too young to have played back then?

The Incinerators are Mages. The Despoilers are Warlocks. You could pay attention during the quest.

Because Demons seek out desperate people who they can exploit. That’s literally what happened to the Orcs and the Blood Elves already. It’s not exactly complicated.

“Apologistic” is not a word, Shadowbolt sucks, and I’m not playing a Vulpera, so you managed to get all of those wrong in the cringiest post I’ve seen on the story forums since Aeula and Jabjan last posted.

And if you have a problem with races playing classes without significant lore precedent, you should probably not be playing a Lightforged Draenei Paladin.

It’s fairly easy too look stuff up, but I guess it’s even easier to just assume bullsh*t, am I right? :smirk:

That applies for the rest of your post too

It really is easy to look stuff up. I also find it very indicative that you are lowkey chastising Sanara for “making assumptions” while making them first.

Not many assumptions on my part, other than the fact that anybody having such a bitter reaction to Vulpera is probably quite young. I could be wrong, but that would just make the person in question immature, so I figure it’s not a very risky assumption to make.

I don’t really care about vulpera, the part which pisses me off is that they are obviously wrong about Zandalari warlocks, and once that is demonstrated, they whine about you breaking some social etiquette, which they broke first.

I think Vulpera are a good fit for the Horde, but I no longer play Horde so it doesn’t really matter one way or the other to me… except for the fact that Vulpera in the Horde makes some people very angry, and that is hilarious to me.

I definitely hope that every person who declared they would faction change or unsub if the Horde got Vulpera will do so. They will no doubt be happier for it - and our lives will be easier, I’m sure.
