Do it.

Surprisingly simple question. How long do trolls live?

I’ve seen many views on the subject. I personally see them as the kind who are hella strong physically but live short lives. Basically burn out quickly like torches. With exceptions like Rastakhan existing.

But some say they live a long time because of their natural regeneration and whatever blessings the Loa give. So basically rather like Wolverine in comics. There’s also the connection they got with elves who live a long time.

Rastakhan had ruled for 250 years, no?

Although, he was kept alive by Rezan etc, but I Think trolls age like humans or tauren.

He did yes. But as ypu said he was blessed to heck by Rezan.

Snörtin’ dat Rezan dust.

We have no current canon numbers on troll lifespans. Shadows of the Horde indicates that Zandalari are “long-lived” (though how long is unknown) but no comments on the other troll species. No hard numbers.

Old RPG stuff jungle/forest trolls burning out a bit faster than humans (maximum lifespan of around 70-80) but they’re not canon anymore.

I think other than Rastakhan and Talanji we don’t really know the ages of any troll characters, zanda or otherwise.

We don’t really know her age, but she can’t be that old since she calls herself being a ‘‘Little girl’’ when Vol’jin refused the Zandalari call during Cataclysm.

Sure, but we can guess that she’s basically barely an adult. It’s more than we had for Sen’jin, Vol’jin, Rokhan, etc.

Might be bodyshaming (gasp) but she also looks older than the 15-18 rough age that her comments suggest which is a bit weird. Sorry Talanji. :frowning:

Apparently Zul’jin was blessed by the Loa, and lived a very, very long time. in ‘Blood of the Highborne’ he is active during the Troll Wars, 2,800 years ago. (It also gives us an idea of the age of Lor’themar, Liadrin, Dark’han Drathir and some other bloke whose name begins with ‘G’. ) Now that book does jump backwards and forwards in time, but it is definitely Zul’jin who tortured Lor’themar during the Troll Wars. So I’m guessing that with the Loa’s help, Trolls live as long as they are useful to the Loa, but that is obviously, special cases, not every Troll. Excessive Regeneration would actually be harmful towards having a long lifespan, to be fair,

Her artwork pic with Jaina makes her look younger than her in-game model.

So she probably is around… 16-18, maybe?

I’m doubtful with this thing tbh.

According to Micky Neilson, the Blood of the Highborne novella’s first chapter was originally meant[20] to take place during the Troll Wars,[21] which would have made Zul’jin, Lor’themar Theron, Liadrin, Dar’Khan Drathir, and Galell around 3,000 years old. This seems dubious as trolls haven’t been known to live that long.

Vol’jin referred to himself as “Ol’ Vol’jin” at some point I recall. And he was only a boy back in WC3 I think.

Could be self deprecation. Could suggest at least Darkspear live short lives.

Makes no sense to me either, but it is in black and white, from a canon source…Ugh…

I edited my post.

Seems like it is not the case and just a general ‘‘War with the Trolls’’

Ah, yes, just saw, and Galell, that was his name! But yeah, it made no sense to me when I read it, I mean given that teh Amani are still around, it is logical that there has been a constant state of War, so it is War with the Trolls, just not what we call ‘The Troll War’. Meh, I read it in German, not my native tongue,

This is dubiously canon since the novella doesn’t actually specify when the chapter takes place and it was just Neilson’s after-the-fact recollections. He contexts his tweets with “if memory serves” and “as far as I remember”.

The second chapter is also a bit Before the Third War, and it’d be quite a leap…

Trolls are unironically the most dangerous threat to Azeroth, they breed quickly, are excellent scrappers and can survive things that most other races can’t.

They’re effectively krogan, and the sooner the Gnomes develop a genophage for them the better. I mean we’re in a time of peace now, right? We don’t need a rising troll empire.

That’s where you’re wrong kiddo

They also already established they are conquerors by taking over the entire world once.
