Lore Questions Hub

I’m going to state it here, the Vulpera language is a travesty.

Yeh but isn’t Void basically one side of a coin, the other being light? as in there’s duality in them and they’re linked together?

I mean, Naaru switch from Light to Void and back again in a cycle iirc

only instance of one switching back i can think of is when the super duper mega bestest priest sacrificed himself to reverse a rlly fresh corruption, other than that going Void is natural to Naaru if they get drained/lonely/sad

depends on which week you ask blizz this question.

It also only happens when mortals are involved.

Yeah you’re not wrong on that to be honest.
I’ll take comfort in the explosion then, seems a bit anti climactic tho

it was happening just fine to uh

(sound)'(sound), the one that alt-Velen killed himself for, even without intervention. Nerzhul just made it go fasterer.

for being old and stoic there sure are a lot of infantile LF around

Light seems to be antithesis to fel, and yet we saw a Lightforged nathrezim, so…yeah probably.

Didn’t M’uru switch back after we beat up his void form? Then he dunked himself in the sunwell.

According to WoWpedia, 'twas Velen who dunked M’uru’s heart into the Sunwell.

Do we have any lore on Pandaren mages? How they came to be, how they fit into society etc. (Pandaren in general are big on “balance”, but the Arcane is explicitly meant to be addicting/the sort of thing you devote your life to studying)? I’ve made up my own backstory by having mine study Mogu scriptures, but haven’t been able to find anything that’s canon or in quests.

Velen purged the little sparkle that remained and slamdunked it in the sunwell, actually.

I stand corrected.

Makes that whole “M’uru sacrificed himself” thing seem a bit less of his choice when Velen did the slamjam to his heart instead, but whatever blizz.

That might be just the light being douchy like it was with Illidan

Liadrin claims to feel love and whatnot from the Sunwell post-dunk, so I’d like to think he was cool with playing the part of a basketball.

I want to say this is old lore, honestly. Back when fel was said to be corrupted arcane, it did seem to be some sort of opposite to the Light (since Shadow wasn’t really elaborated on yet), but especially after Chronicles I feel like it’s more that Arcane ↔ Fel and Light ↔ Void. If the undead can use the Light, it makes sense a demon could too. They’re both basically equally “sensitive” to it.

please don’t remind me of swooning armcandy elf Liadrin.

I feel like I remember there being some mention of heavy fel usage causing one to lose one’s abilities to wield the arcane, but I have no idea where I might remember that from, or if I’m misremembering entirely, so take that with a bottle of salt.

Edit 2: So it was a demon hunter, I just got the wrong one.

Before I became a demon hunter, I practiced the arcane arts. I still retain some of that knowledge, though the fel makes it all but impossible to use.

Jace, not Marius. But yeah, I guess your ability to use the arcane diminishes over time if you try fel magic. Probably a pretty long time.
