I am currently doing progress towards the loremaster achievement. I know that some achievements are faction specific, but it shows that I need to complete stories that I already have done.
For example. On one alliance character that im doing it on currently for alliance, I have not completed the Westfall & Duskwood achievement, but when I look if I have completed the stories in those two zones and gotten the achievements for completing all the chapters, I have.
So I don’t understand why Loremaster achievement says I haven’t completed the Westfall story when I have. It is the same with a bunch of different zones too, for Horde also.
I don’t know if I should just play through all those zones again or if it is a easier way of solving this.
It’s hard to be specific without being able to look up your specific characters, but here are a couple of tips:
Faction-specific zone quest achievements are mirrored between Alliance and Horde. So, for example, if you have Westfall quests achievement on your Alliance character, you will see Northern Barrens (I think, could be Azshara) achievement completed on your Horde characters.
Each zone achievement must be completed by a single character. This may be what’s confusing you. To get the achievement for the zone, you have to complete the three, four, … whatever number of quest chains listed in the box for the achievement ON THE SAME CHARACTER. Take Westfall, for example. It has “Crime Scene Investigation”, “Investigating the Shadows”, and “Defias Brotherhood Reborn”. You can’t do “Crime Scene Investigation” on one character, and “Investigating the Shadows” on another. Or rather, you can, but they won’t add together to complete the achievement. You need to do all three stories on ONE character to get the achievement. Doing the three separate stories on three separate characters doesn’t do it.
On every character of yours, the achievemnt will show whether it is complete or not, and if so, on which character, but the ticks in the boxes will tell you which bits have been done by the character you are looking at. You may see a zone complete achievement with only one box ticked - that means that the zone was completed by another character, and the character you are looking at has completed only one of the quest chains.
If you name a couple of characters/realms, we could look up their achievements on their armouries to see what’s missing.
Were they done on a single character? Some of the zones are linked, I remember having to do Wetlands with another zone and I assume both zones would need to be done on the same character.
I just completed the Northern Barrens questline on an Alliance character and it shows that I have completed it in the Loremaster Achievement of Kalimdor for my alliance characters but not on any Horde. So maybe it’s faction specific? Which still sucks imo.
Did you mean you completed Southern Barrens on an Alliance character?
There are no quests for Alliance in Northern Barrens.
And no, for sure, shared zones are not faction spcific. I have Loremaster of everything, and I spent quite a lot of time looking at this. And I see your Blood Elf that you are posting on has recently got Soutrern Barrens Quests.
I’m just not sure which Alliance zones get paired with which Horde zones.
