Losing agro as tank

i tried everything and checked logs. protdadin just doesnt produce enough threath. and the damage is tank is so low
please fix it

They should buff tanks 100% threat increase against dps and healers.

some dps just over aggro due to 20mil dps aoe.

If you lose aggro as a Protpaladin, you are doing something wrong.

You can do insane burst dmg on pull. Theres no way to lose aggro.

it has to do with haste scale and damage blizzard focus more on tank dps than tank survival these days.

Bit hard to pull more when a DH /Dk ramps 20mil and over aggro.

So as Protpala you can also burst 20mil Dps, so theres no way to lose aggro.

personally im more for survival.

Well, I have looked at some of your logs and:

  • Your haste is low. A bit too much into Mastery & Versa
  • Behind in ilvl and missing 6 gem socket slots & Chest/Legs/Boots enchant
  • Playing Lightsmith with 2 set. The Hero spec needs 4 set to function viably
  • You’re playing with 3 very strong dps specs who all have 4 set boosting their dmg a lot

It’s the meta hero talent this season you monkey. It got a significant dps buff from new tier set compared to templar. Also if you can’t hold aggro on prot pally with wings, divine toll, final stand you should deffo uninstall.

You missed the important part. Try reading properly and being less of a clown.

Prot paladin only issue is his durability , the tank feels like a blood dk , you rely so much on rng block and parry , while prot warrior got a full 100% block and can rng block more , he got pure ignore pain and can heal , got massive dr spells on top of that on short cd.

Threat is never an issue , the issue is how you manage your cds , per example the pack is about to die in the next 10 second and you got divine tool up , i feel like you would use it on that dead pack and go to the next without any aoe spells , just remember that you should manage how to you pull , that’s a fun tank aspect , people who actually think before doing something to improve their run , not the lazy “buff tank threat so i use one spell and i can’t lose agro”.

Also i wish the prot paladin gameplay was based on his mastery instead of making a full crit tier set nonsense , it feels like your forced now to go crit than mastery which makes you way less tanky , its not like prot paladin is squishy as it is.

The major problems on some tanks being squishy is the stress factor , it makes the role so unfun and not enjoyable to play , if a mob can hit me with a mid life buster , and others put a debuff with a 25% increased damage taken , is a bit absurd for a shield user , might as well give him death strike.

Well , some people will still disagree that every tank should be as prot warrior in terme of durability , but the devs love unbalanced tanks , which is the less popular role , even in a fantasy game you cannot pick what you enjoy if you wanna push content , i never felt so in danger in high keys till i played prot paladin , in the other hand you go prot warrior 100% block ignore pain , shout 20% dr , defensive stance , that’s called a shield user , meanwhile prot paladin " well maybe i will use my shield sometimes , maybe not , depends on the mood" , its so odd to put rng blocks on a shield user.

I do think that all tanks should be just hella tanky for the health of the game but keep in mind prot pala needs to be a little squishier than others because of the group utility it brings and kicks.

its true , but why do durability have to be compensated with kicks ? usualy i would agree if i could offheal as a prot pal , but word of glory got so nerfed , and if i use it too much on people while playing lightsmith i’ll just run out of mana , not to mention i need it to survive on big pulls or some bosses.

Durabiltiy should always be the standard on tanks , you should not be able to take 50% of your hp in a second then have to heal it back , considering if word of glory do not crit , it barely heals3 mil ??? and i have 20 mil hp is nuts , this the issue with prot paladin , the class rely on rng , like why would you put rng tanking on a class ? how is this balanced ? how do devs not see this nonsense ? your telling me that sometimes i block and sometimes i don’t is good ? sometimes i heal myself sometimes i don’t is a good design ? that’s pure bs , give prot paladin a spell like warrior to keep his 100% block , they killed paladin mastery , now you can’t go 100% block anymore cause your wasting stats and damage and your tier set rely on crit so you have to do crit now.

Everyone who wants success in harder content. Suddenly I am glad my groups use sorting procedures between its members to remove suboptimality
