I just managed to level up a shadow priest from 1 - 50 doing WOD only, now that I am level 50 though I’m at a standstill in terms of what I should be doing so I can gear myself up.
I have unlocked daily quests in the past in bfa but for some reason I cannot do anything on my new level 50, I honestly have no idea how I’m supposed to catch up with gear without the pre-patch event :S
I’m lost and confused right now, what should I be doing?
Do the initial quests for BfA, go to Nazjatar, get your neck and cloak, get bentic gear on your main and send it to your alt as starter.

The boat in Boralus, talk to Halford Wyrmbane.
Uniting Kul Tiras is the quest to unlock World Quests.
After that talk to Genn Graymane who is also on the boat.
No u get black empire 410 gear. Benthic is 385
Wq equipment scales with your ilvl , normal or heroic dungeons do help also .
For some reason he isn’t giving me the quest ;( The only quests I see is “The War Cache” and " Voyage to the west "
That sucks. I remember there was rep requirement the first time you go to Nazjatar, maybe it’s that.
“you must be level 120 and have gotten friendly reputation with your faction’s three zone reps: Storm’s Wake, Proudmoore Admiralty, and Order of Embers for Alliance, and Voldunai, Zandalari Empire, and Talanji’s Expedition for Horde.”
But its far easier to farm pearls and target specific armor type gear…
black empire has no real ‘farm’ capability
Have you logged out and back in since you hit 50? If not give that a go.
I just tried that but no luck ;[
I meet those requirements on my alts, and have been able to unlock daily quests before skipping out the rep requirements, the only difference being they did BFA quests, and my new priest never :o
Ok, I think I got it. You need to complete “The War Cache” quest first. Just hand out 100 war campaign resources and it should unlock
Possibly the footholds on Zandalar too which you also get from Halford Wyrmbane.
Sorry for the trouble guys I fixed it, turns out you need the Heart of Azeroth 
Or Just level more toons and wait for the event.
It will give 100ilvl gear which is enough to catch up.
Honestly I’d just wait until the scourge event starts. There’s plenty of catch up gear to be earned there.
have you played in 8.3?? i have 3 banks full of gear xd
Unsub and wait for Shadowlands relase 
game is such a mess, i doubt you can have any fun from trying to do BFA content
I’m taking the advice on levelling more characters since it’s easy and would help me with my mount farms I’ll probably take a break in the coming weeks until the gear catch-up arrives.
Spell delay is crazy right now though…
Leveling is what keeps me in game now, really 
it’s fun, there are many changes to explore and much time to decide on main after that i’m waiting for Shadowlands with clear mind
Try to change zone and look if it persists, yesterday i had 2 second delay in Eastern Plaguelands, but when i changed zone to Tanaris all lag stopped.
