Lost old phone number - cant change to new number

Hi.

I lost my old phone number and was trying to change it to my new phone number. However, because I lost my old number I can not change it to the new one.

One way to change it would be by uploading and sending them a picture of my government ID, which is definitely not happening. And I can’t even open the Live Chat because I dont have my old number and I’m not uploading my ID.

How do I change the number then?

thanks.

If you don’t have the old number, then you’ll need to upload a scan of ID. It’s covered by GDPR so will just be checked then destroyed.

Not sure if I like that. I would seriously rather not sent anyone my ID… That sounds super dodgy

losing phone number sounds dodgy too, since every network provides free duplicate of sim card. If you don’t want to send your ID then you won’t get your number changed, your call.

Lmfao. i lost my phone number by dropping my phone into a freaking river. I got a new phone + number. Also, comparing phone vs ID is absurd. Which do you think is more important and would you like to keep private?

Hey Wolhaiksong,

To remove sms protect a form of ID is required to verify ownership (see this page for what we accept and why it is required, including what happens with the ID after submission: https://eu.battle.net/support/en/article/26516).

If our live chat is open you can upload it directly to them during the chat, found here.

If you’d also like to learn more about what data is stored (including viewing it) or how it is used we have a suite of GDPR related features.

so you mean you cant lose your old phone number? whats the e-mail for then? i want to do it by e-mail. plus when i was young and made the account back in the TBC i didnt put my name a surname exactly as in ID cause i’ve never thought i would be playing at my 35 still this game…so now what? after so many years i lost this account spending so much time and money? thank you blizzard!
