Low FPS in World of Warcraft Despite decent Hardware (i7 13700H, RTX 4070, 32GB RAM)

Hey everyone,

I’m facing a frustrating issue with my Acer Predator Triton 14 and hoping to get some advice. My system specs are as follows:

  • CPU: Intel i7 13700H

  • GPU: NVIDIA RTX 4070

  • RAM: 32GB

  • OS: Windows 11

Despite having what I believe to be a pretty solid setup, I’m experiencing low FPS in World of Warcraft, with frames fluctuating between 150 and 25 FPS. This drop happens regardless of the activity—whether I’m in a dungeon, doing world quests, or just hanging out in a less populated area.

What’s confusing is that other, more demanding games run perfectly fine. For example, I can easily get 60+ FPS in games like Cyberpunk 2077, Red Dead Redemption 2, and other modern AAA titles with high settings. My system doesn’t seem to have any problem maintaining steady frame rates in these games.

I’ve tried tweaking the in-game settings, updating drivers, and even monitoring temperatures to make sure nothing is overheating, but the issue persists. Has anyone else experienced this? Could this be a software issue with WoW, or am I missing something?

Any insights would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance.

World of Warcraft uses a hella old engine, no matter how good your PC is, you’re always gonna experience fps drops in World of Warcraft.

If you wanna decrease the fps drops, I would recommend going for the CPU’s AMD Ryzen 7 5700x3D or AMD Ryzen 9 7900x3D, these CPU’s are the best for World of Warcraft.

Warcraft team have messed up something with the last changes since TWW, I have the same problem, low fps in some scenarios, crashes and more, and I’ts only wow, as you said, AAA games with ultra settings run with no problems.
