Low FPS (new system)

Hi there!

I’ve got aw new system which is struggling with FPS. In most cities (which isn’t a surprise) and any content with 5+ people around me, my FPS plummets. I’m running all graphics settings on medium & have things like Ray Traced Shadows disabled. System specs below:

Processor Intel(R) Core™ i9 14900F (24-Core, 68MB Total
Cache, 2.0GHz to 5.8GHz w/Turbo Boost Max 3.0)

1000W Platinum Rated PSU, 240mm Liquid-Cooled
CPU & Clear Side Panel

Memory 32GB, 2x16GB, DDR5, 5600MT/s
Hard Drive - First Drive

1TB NVMe M.2 PCIe SSD

Intel Core i9 Processor Label

NVIDIA(R) GeForce RTX™ 4070Ti SUPER
16GB GDDR6X

Anyone got any ideas? I’m running no addons but I’d have expected to be able to have higher FPS than I’m seeing.

Things I’ve tried

Thanks!

How about you give us some numbers to work with?
Or do you want us to take a wild guess?

I’m not a fan of these guides, most cointain either outdated info or really stupid tips.
I can literally tell that this guide is doing more harm than good after just looking at his renderscale setting (91%).

Renderscale has been broken for over half a year now for most (if not all) users.
If you set it to anything other than 100% (native resolution) than it kills your FPS.

I made an extensive post just a while ago with alot of screenshots and different settings.
Tldr; my FPS went from 300+ to ~160ish just by turning renderscale to 99% or even 33%.
Right now it kinda does the opposite of what it’s supposed to :stuck_out_tongue:

Thanks for the reply.

My FPS sits within the range of 30-47 FPS for the most part - I can go to 65-80 while in the middle of nowhere with absolutely nothing around me or when I look at the ceiling :slightly_smiling_face: , while in raids (less surprising I suppose) drops to 20-35. Based on the system, I’m not sure if this is expected or not?

These are actually low numbers for your CPU, yes.

You should expect around double that or more depending on the situation.

So first of, make sure your renderscale is at 100%.

Then i would look into the CPU, like temps, clockspeeds when playing and also if your RAM XMP profile is loaded and running in dual channel mode.

Also make sure your BIOS is up to date, Intel issues, you know…

If you are on Win11 then get the latest updates.

But most importantly check the CPU and RAM settings and values i mentioned.
