Hi
After upgrading today to windows 11(OS BUILD:22000.434) and launching WoW Shadowlands, i had 12 to 25 constant FPS, whereas before update i had around 50 to 60 fps.
So i tried tweaking graphics settings and not even going down to BARE minimum graphic settings helped.
The only thing that worked was changing DX12 to DX11. Now im getting 50-60 stable fps even at 2k resolution!
Why? am i missing alot by not having DX12?
You’re missing some things with DX12, but if DX11 is working better for you, keep using that for now. DX12 has some performance increases, but it’s obvious that they aren’t working for your current setup. I would highly recommend to investigate and report issues though, because at some point DX11 will be phased out.

Some of the libraries in DirextX 11 are unfortunately already considered “deprecated” by Microsoft, so there is likely going to be a point in the somewhat near when they will indeed stop supporting it.
As for the issue at hand: we’ve seen a few reports about this, specifically following upgrades to Windows 11. In some cases doing a fully clean re-installation of the video drivers has helped - a tool like DDU might prove useful if you want to give this a try.
