Hey, guys. I have a strange problem. I am runing HP pavilion6 laptop with this parameters:
Operating System: Windows 10 Pro 64-bit (10.0, Build 18362)
System Model: HP Pavilion g6 Notebook PC
Processor: Intel® Core™ i5-3210M CPU @ 2.50GHz (4 CPUs), ~2.5GHz**
Memory: 6144MB RAM
Desktop video card - Intel HD graphics 4000
Rendering video card - ATI Radeon HD7600M 2 GB
DirectX Version: DirectX 12
The issue is that with my gaming video card - ATI Radeon HD7600M my Classic WoW client cannot pass 20 fps , but when I switch ingame settings with my desktop intel HD graphics, the game easily reaches 70-80 fps on the same game settings.
How can I fix this issue. I got reinstalled my drivers (used DDU) with the latest from the official website of AMD. Also I got latest windows 10 update, without any new available atm.
Is this only with WoW that you have this problem? If you have it in other games too, I suggest you check with HP as part of your warranty and support guarantee.
Not surprised, that is a very weak GPU.
It should be better than an Intel HD 4000.
The gpu driver may be simply too old for it to work well. Intel atleast updates them so even older models work fine
the driver is 2015 latest update, probably is that, but still I got some decent performance on other games.
Sorry to say this, but neither your card nor your laptop gets updated graphics. HP does not support Windows 10 at all for your laptop and AMD has stopped providing updates since end 2015.
As HP does not support Windows 10 for your laptop, it would be problematic for us to try and find out the cause as you do not have updated drivers. Regardless, you can try clean install your drivers from AMD to see if that resolves it.
Also, AMD Radeon HD7600M does not exist. It is 7610, 7630, 7650, 7670 or 7690.
Thanks, I saw that latest driver updates are from 2015’s end. How ever I did reinstalled with DDU my drivers with the latest one, still the same problem. I tried the command of rolling back dx12 to 11, even 10, no change.
And for 7600M series - the driver is the same, no difference between 7610, 7650 etc.
Probably the card is to old to deal with this engine, that was the same case with Overwatch. Still wondering why Intell HD 4000 runs the game way smoother that tne ATI video card.
That’s because Intel HD 4000 forces the game in OpenGL where as your AMD card tries with DX which is more demanding. The card is old as well as your laptop. You can try playing in DX11, but I still think it won’t be enough.
