Hello, i have some problems with my fps. I go down below 60 fps when im on recommended graphic settings which is 7. Even on 3-4-5-6 i still go down below 60. These situations happens when i am doing big battlegrounds, dungeons when lots going on and farming crowded mobs with people. I feel like this is unfair but i may be wrong, so i wanted to ask here. Any thoughts on this matter by players or techinal support staff would be appreciated. Here is my other system infos and my ingame settings :
I7-9750H CPU @2.60Hz 2.6GHz > 4.5GHz 45W 14nm
RAM : 8,00 GB
GTX 1650
256 GB SSD
Windows 10 Home 64bit
My ingame settings : Vertical Sync disabled, Anti-Aliasing = None and i use Graphic quality on base settings like i said at the beginning.
So here i am with these settings and i should add; i recently rebooted formatted my laptop and installed only wow. (Because it was same before). And the laptop is only 1 years old. I just got my laptop back from Monsterâs maintenance service. What i am trying to say is my laptop is clean right now.
I just donât want to play WoW on minimum graphic quality base settings (1). I hope someone can help me about this with some suggestions. Or my system really deserves this ?

This is purely CPU bound and modes wonât really change the FPS (unless 100 mobs are casting pretty spells
) Pretty much the more actors the more complex world state around you and CPU is responsible for managing that state. Even top of the line CPU will drop FPS in a BG and alike.

Hey thanks for the answer but i forgot to mention when in turbo mod it goes 2.6GHz > 4.5GHz . Also i forgot to add my SSD i added them all. Do you really think my CPU Speed is the reason ? Because its unchangable
The common thread when you start lagging is combat log events, i.e. many attacks, heals, etc.
Your GPU and therefore graphics settings mean very little in this case.
I would go through my addons and see if anything in them is interaction with the COMBAT_LOG_EVENT_UNFILTERED event.
To confirm this, disable all your addons and join an Epic BG and see how it goes. If it goes well, read below.
Thereâs some telltale signs of addons that do this:
- Anything that adds up damage, healing, absorbs, etc. This includes damage meters and the like.
- Combat text addons like SCT or NameplaceSCT
- Death log addons
- Unit frame addons
- Nameplate addons
Chatboxes, castbars, action buttons, etc. should generally be safe.
If you find disabling one of them fixes the problem youâve got your culprit.
EDIT: Your CPU speed is probably responsible however that is a very high end CPU and should not bottleneck WoW to this extent. Something is running inside the game during intense combat encounters thatâs causing this lag. I actually have the same CPU, and I donât experience this even with >50 addons running. Itâs probably one in particular, maybe even a bunch of LUA errors. Try grabbing BugSack and BugGrabber, that might reveal it to you.

Your system is working fine. You can check clocks of each core and how the clock is hold over time. Windows power plan or sometimes a BIOS setting may put the CPU in more performance or power saving oriented mode and here you want max performance mode.
As the post above mentions - addons or logging can affect FPS more on top of what the game will limit due to mass BG battle and alike. 60 FPS is not guaranteed.
Hey dude thanks for answering. I tried disabling addons and nothing has changed. Only on basic graphic settings at 1 i dont drop below 60 fps. I am just so irritated this system does not deserve this and everything seems okay.
8GB ram is just not enough if u play 10 10 10 and ultra everything it require more then that i have usage of ram around 10GB of ram on highest settings for 1080p resolution.
Iâd look at the RAM then. 8GB paired with a 9750H is insanity. You could be experiencing swapping.

Not ultra i just wanna play on avarage settings. I am okay with 7 which is recommended by blizzard. But believe me i am totaly okay with 5 too. For now if i want 60 FPS during combat i have to do 1 which is the lowest, no other choices.
Disabling addons is insufficient, They still get loaded into the client. For an actual diagnostic elimination of an addon issue, they need to be uninstalled entirely.
Okay, i ll try to look up for that one and try to upgrade it. Hope this is the real issue which is causing the problems. Thank you for your interest and advices man!
Hi there!
We would indeed recommend a full UI reset to resolve this:

I play 10 10 10 with 8 gb just fine.
RAM is cheap, get 16 gb if you can.
I donât know if itâs the solution to OPs problem, but I recently upgraded from 8 gb because of SL and there is definitely a difference.
Iâve checked how much is used, itâs around 10-11 gb in simple questing at the beta. FF on my second screen but not much else.
