My cpu intel core i7-5820k (6cores,12threads oc 4.3Ghz) with RTX 3060 12gig vram and 32GB ram 3000 Mhz just can’t handle the dungeons … so many situations in the war within dungeons content that I can’t play with more than like 35-50 fps… no matter on settings if ultra or low with 80% render scale… This is pure CPU problem, and WoW is the only one game that has this problem with framerates when is here more than 8 npcs… I’m not gonna buy new cpu just because this game engine can’t handle it, really not. I would go play rather Battlefields or Liberty of Throne because there are no issue at all with my specs… Work on optimize please… I want play this game so much… Pretty please…
Then there is nothing you can do or we can help you here with.
WoW is very CPU-limited and your CPU is very dated and slow by todays standards, wether you want to realize that or not.
Here’s a CPU benchmark for DF:
https://www.pcgameshardware.de/World-of-Warcraft-Dragonflight-Spiel-73654/Specials/WoW-Dragonflight-Benchmarks-Anforderungen-1408516/2/
PS: your CPU is also barely making the minimum system requirements for DF
Thank you for answer
Don’t listen to this clown. I’m on a 12700kf and this expansion has had massive frame issues in Dungeons and even in the open world when fighting mobs. It seems like using abilities in combat causes huge stutters. Even with no addons and all graphics on minimum it makes no difference.
I’m glad I’m not the only one having these performance issues with the game in several situations. I’ve always played keystones and enjoyed the game but as of now I’m going to have to stop, my gaming experience is heavily affected by the heavy frame drop in PVE. Thank you for answer Grognak
I can attest to the reduced performance as well. I have a 7800x3d and 7900 xtx and definitely feels like lower fps and stutters, to a larger extent than dragonflight. Blizzard really need to either optimize or reduce the amount of unnecessary detail.
Also there is a known issue since 10.2 where if render scale is anything but 100%, UI elements like character and collections, and water on good and high cause much lower gpu usage and FPS cuts in half
hopefully they’ll do something about it soon. It’s really annoying when a game like this runs miserably. I don’t really need photorealism graphics… it’s important to me that the game runs smoothly instead of graphics.
That cpu is pretty old, if you have the money for it it may be worth to upgrade right now, just do not buy an Intel CPU with how they wont even recall their CPU’s for Intel death issue.
I haven’t had issues with 5800X3D and RX6600, or least not something I would notice. I haven’t paid attention to FPS. The only thing I noticed the occasional very slight, but annoying, stuttering I had during some parts of DF is no longer present.
Can we please stop derailing these discussions by telling people to “just upgrade”. If people were playing the game normally before and now suddenly they get huge FPS drops in specific scenarios, it’s likely not on their end.
I’m having similar issues. 12600kf - I just did a delve and my FPS is dropping from 100 to as low as the 70s when entering combat with a pack of mobs. There is no valid reason for such a huge drop.
Telling some one that cpu is old is not derailing, this game is CPU bound afterall, if you do not like it you have a option to ignore me, i suggest you use it, rather then abuse the report system, just because your feelings got hurt because some one spoke the truth.
I know that my cpu is pretty old, but still decent for today play games in 60-75fps like my 75Hz monitor is. But WoW is still pretty same, and it’s performance demands is higher with every major patch seems like and nothing changes. I can play smoothly Classic with 2000 people running around in orgrimmar, but retail is twitching in my dungeon with ten npcs doing nothing. Just look around and the fps goes down to 45-55 which is horrible… I can handle battlefield on ultra settings and new games better than WoW actually.
You missed the part where myself and someone else in this thread with CPUs more than capable are also seeing performance decreases.
Nothing in WoW (especially dungeons) should be pushing it over the edge that much, especially when you can play more demanding games on the same PC and see fewer issues.
I am not ignoring you, i just do not care.
I have had the same CPU, and upgraded it was a big upgrade in performance at the time, yes its capable if you do not care about your FPS, i highly recommend you read the topic tittle, and stop being problematic.
12700KF here and sometimes the performance is not making any sense, also 32gb ddr5 dual channel ram at 5600mt/s with a 4070ti on a 970 evo m2, also for the past hour im trying to download the 350mb with no success due to “1990” era download speeds with battlenet.
Oh get a grip.
These complaints were there since DF Prepatch. Blizz just keeps ignoring them. People on all sorts of machines have issues with the FPS, those with high end ones just notice it less because our eyes can only see so many FPS.
On my PC for instance, Star Citizen runs better than WoW and thats embarassing for Blizz.
This problem has been ignored for years and nothing will happen until there is a major outcry from every possible News channel/Outlet/Streamer and whatnotall.
