Low mmr cr in high mmr shuffle

I just came back after a good few months away from the game, spent a little time gearing my char doing bg’s and skirmishes then went into to shuffle. Granted my cr on my healer char was only 600 and straight away my first shuffle game was 2.2mmr, everyone in the game had over 2.2cr including the enemy healer.

I was rusty and didn’t expect to be thrown into the deep end, I did badly and got alot of abuse. I did another game and same thing happened I’m under 1kcr and everyone elses mmr and cr were all 2.2+ again including the enemy healer.

And wow the abuse I got was unreal. Why does the mmr have to be that high for me everytime, why can’t I just join a game with around 1.5mmr while I get used to the fast gameplay again.

You wonder why healers don’t want to play shuffle, they get thrown in the deep end on their first solo shuffle game and end up getting TONS of abuse because of it and most likely alot of them decide to not continue shuffle after all that abuse.

Thing is Blizz doesn’t reset MMR completely after a new season, they just reduce it by a certain amount, calculated by an algorithm, based on your MMR from previous season. So let’s say you were 2400 MMR last season, your MMR would have went down to like 1900 or sth, but then due to inflation it would be somewhere 2100+ at this point in time.

Best thing you can do in your situation is probably to just leave the first few lobbies (not 100% sure whether leaving also decreases your MMR, but I believe it does). That way you decrease your MMR fast and while still loosing a lot of time, it’s just more efficient and less toxic.

The issue is, leaving is also extremely toxic to the people who waited in que. For sure its more efficient and less toxic for him, but also more toxic against the other 5 players x)

The biggest issue though is the people trashing and being toxic when its easily understood by looking at ppls CR since the MMR always increases but its sad for him to have to deal with higher rated players when rusty for sure.

It’s called inflation. The season has been up for multiple months.

The game is trying to give you a chance to push faster by testing you on higher mmr. Don’t worry, you will quickly drop to your desired low MMR after a few losses.

Healing on higher mmr is actually a lot easier, because your teammates don’t troll you and press their buttons. But this does not apply to healers who don’t know how to avoid CC, press their cooldowns or play properly in general.

I continue to not understand Shuffle-maining players.

So you are quing a Rated game mode. To uhm… push to higher rating? And then you complain about being given a chance to start off with higher mmr to get that rating faster and easier? Because of people playing better than you? So then you complain about wanting to play in the sewer mmr. And you want to queue there to… stay at low rating? And at the same time you’re quing to push out of that rating?

Shuffle brain baffles me.

I am DEFINITELY not a shuffle maining player, I joined it hoping to farm conquest points fast since most of my gear is still blue, and it’s fast queues for healers. I dont understand your argument at all, I came back after a good few months off, pretty rusty gameplay wise. Went into shuffle with 0 rating blue gear expecting to be at 1.5mmr to USE SHUFFLE AS A CP FARMING TOOL ONLY. Only to be put in at 2.2mmr first game and have loads of people complain about my cr even before the game starts. That shouldn’t be like that.

Looking at your check-pvp it looks like you’re shuffle maining player, not sure why. It’s the worst system out there. I only use it to farm cp’s or did in season one.

I honestly don’t know why you thought I was a “Shuffle-maining player”. There is nothing in what I put that even suggests I main shuffle. I have no clue why anyone would want to main shuffle like you do, not seen anyone do as many shuffles before like you according to check-pvp Jesus Christ, have a break already…

Shuffle brain baffles me.

(Although venruki made a video about this situation and he definitely thinks it’s wrong when he had to play with a 0 cr and 0 exp healer priest that lost every game at 2.1+mmr, it frustrated him and will probably make the priest feel bad and not return to shuffle).

I don’t main Shuffle lol, I just queue it while searching for 3v3

I farmed out my elite in shuffle at the start of the season, and have had maybe a few queues every since.

That’s great and all, but there is inflation in place and the season is almost over. Of course everybody else will have full gear, most people actively play the rated game modes and don’t return after months.

You want chill conquest farm? Make a 2v2 or 3v3 group for conquest capping, quickly invite the first people who join, play at 0 CR, relax, sit back do nothing and win.

Getting elite 2 months into the season isn’t at the start of the season in my eyes but whatever.
You have done over 1300 games in shuffle on that DH alone, you have almost 15 chars all with hundreds of shuffle games played on EACH. If this is you queing “a few games since” Jesus Christ what is your version of actually playing properly. You’ve done more arena so far this season than me in multiple expansions together. It looks like you never take a day off.

Luckily hardly anyone agrees with you on this topic, no 2.2+cr dps wants to fight along side healers who have 0cr and 0 exp. Here is the video Venruki made about it.

Not sure why you’re okay with 0 exp healers healing you in shuffle at high mmr. Unless we let blizzard know about these problems they will end up leaving it as it is. Shuffle is still new and only in it’s second season. All aspects of pvp can be fast CP farms, RBG and normal arena and shuffle.

Last season shuffle was the best way to farm cp’s, but not anymore as a healer. I used it alot to get cp’s for conquest loot boxes. Having low mmr cr healers heal high mmr games is not the best answer to shorten queues for dps.

Yes I play the game a lot on many different classes this is why I give my opinions on the forums. I genuinely wouldn’t care if Shuffle was removed tomorrow though. It’s just a pass time for me to practice classes and specs for 3v3 or to fill up vaults sometimes.

As I said, it is the season’s end, so there is inflation. At the start of the season, most 0 CR characters were on 1500 rated games where they probably belong.

MMR also carries over from previous seasons as well.

Everything depends on the 0 CR character. Because a 0 CR character can be:

  1. First time player of the class, no experience before
  2. Experienced player on a new alt of the same class (e.g you main Holy Priest, and made a 2nd Holy Priest character, leveled it, sent boxes and are now quing, you know what you are doing)
  3. Experienced role player on a new alt of a class / spec they haven’t played before (e.g a Resto druid main trying Holy paladin etc)

So I both agree and disagree with your points. I think the system should take into account if you have played the class before and what you have achieved on it, or if you have never played on it before.

The viewpoint of being a DPS with a low rated healer goes both ways though. On some DPS classes you can heavily abuse this to your advantage and get free wins, and on others you are having a miserable experience because the guy doesn’t know what he is doing.

Thing is no healers want to queue by default because Solo Shuffle is a miserable game mode for healers on all ratings and is rarely fun. DPSes feeding happen on every single rating. Why? Because human factor - you have to keep people with 0 self responsibility and game awareness alive and consistently compensate mistakes. Doesn’t happen when quing 3v3 or 2v2 as a Healer, cause you can point out things to the DPS.

I got thrown into 1900 2200 or something with my druid with 500 cr it was my first day as healer in solo shuffle ,i didnt even have full gear ,it was fun tho but its not fair need time to learn .
