lowering the maximum level

What is your opinion on the reduction of the maximum level and the introduction of PARAGON from Diablo III or The Elder Scroll Online (Champions Point)?

I’d like to see something like that in WoW

No thank you different games different mechanics. Edit: Just to clarify I have D3 and have over 500+ paragon levels on that game and it’s a system that is NOT suited to this game as this is not what WoW was designed for.

Paragon levels don’t belong in an MMO imo.

nah not paragon, but lowering the levels to about 80 would be fine, but if I would be the one doing so, I would in next expac rewamp the hole game or most of it, so there would be some sort of sence to it.

With content scaling and heirlooms the amount of levels is mostly irrelevant this side of talent trees and the such. You blast through levels and your gear is top notch anyway.

As a tool for talent reworks and all that I’m game. Otherwise it’s meh.

All my opinion of course.

Edit : When the HEAVENS do profiles update? I parted with the guild it says I’m in months ago.

I don’t really see how lowering the maximun level will do anything. The experience will still be the same, just with lower numbers.

If Blizzard is to solve the leveling problems, they need to find rewards and player progression for each level you get and if they can find rewards for 60 or 80 levels, they should be able to find it for 120.

PS: I personally love Paragon Points in Diablo 3 and Paragon is one of the reasons why i still play the game to this day, but it does not work in WoW, especially when we already have Azerite, which kinda works like Paragon.

That said, if they add a form of Paragon, that has nothing to do with power, like the system in Wildstar, where you just got mounts, hats and other fun cosmentic stuff

There is quite many mmopgs that have it in some form. OP mentioned ESO but there is other ones too (for example gw2 mastery system and swtor galactic command come to mind). So it is not unheard of. Not sure if it would work in wow thought.:man_shrugging:

The initial Paragon system that Diablo III had could work quite well in WoW, I think.
Capped at 100 points, you get 1 point per level, and you can put the points into various passive bonuses. That’s basically the same concept as the old talent trees or the artifact weapon, just with a focus on small passive bonuses and not major active abilities.

So yeah, that could work. What leveling basically needs is some sort of permanent reward whenever you level up. The old talent points accomplished that nicely, and so would Paragon points – because it’s basically the same.

The new Paragon system in Diablo III – which has no cap – wouldn’t really work though, because WoW isn’t meant to let players have unlimited power, so to speak.

And yeah, the level squish is a good idea as well, in my opinion. And even with a level squish you can still incorporate more character systems, like a Paragon-esque system, if you want.
