Lowlevel Quest reward upgrades - On purpose?

I have noticed that questrewards all the way back to classic, has started to sometimes drop upgraded, and I am curious as to whether or not this is intended.

Some of them (alot) get blue, but quite a few turns out purple as well. I have never ever seen this before so I am puzzled. Its the first time a lowbie char of mine runns around in epic’s thats for sure :laughing:

Wow! i had no idea, and that’s the problem. People are learning new things from other players, blizzard don’t bother to post any changes.

I noticed they have started getting buffs too. I guess they applied that to the whole levelling experience now :slight_smile:

Yeah, it was added in 8.1.5, so now gear from quests can upgrade like they can from Wod? (Or Legion) onwards. It was to make it more “fun”. But, to be honest, with the amount of Heirlooms in the game and spots heirlooms take, it’s not really going to make much of a difference in my opinion lol.

I don’t think it’s intended… I don’t HOPE it is. It feels wierd to get purple loot WAY over the regular ilvl of the lowlevel gear you normally get.

as an example: On my hunter, the average ilevel of green rewards was around 57. as I recieve the item it upgrades to rare and end up around 62. Then the next reward I get upgrades to an epic level 67.

It has nothing to do really, with the Ilevel… It just feels wierd to have a char below 60 running around in epic gear xD

All Quest rewards from Classic through the Warlords of Draenor expansion now have a chance to upgrade up to Epic quality.

  • Item-levels of Rare and Epic quest rewards in Classic through Warlords of Draenor have been increased slightly in some cases.
  • Unique items that drop from rare enemies in Classic through Mists of Pandaria content now also have a chance to upgrade in quality.

They did tell you, you didn’t read the patch notes.

Awh man… so it is on purpose :confused: Well now progression seems even more out of the picture if I can get purple stuff from start :disappointed: . what fun is there in questing anymore lol

I usually just spam dungeons the whole way xD. Recently unlocked the Orc allied race, and did 3 dungeons, getting me from 20-25 (with about 5-6 quests in the world).

Pretty sure this was in the patch notes. It was one of the things I took note of, because I found it cool.
