Will there be any sort of Loyalty program in the future? When staying subbed all the time. The more you stay subbed the better rewards you can get. Like a ingame shop they add. 1 month gets you 1k points you can use to buy cosmetic items, xp buff or increase reputation gains for a time. 2 Months 2k points will make you able to buy better cosmetic items, pets, mounts, xp buffs etc… and the list goes on. Now when you stayed subbed for 6 months straight you can buy one of those expensive tcg items from the shop bind on pickup. No way to sell them except if you had a tcg code from the real items. Or you could choose an old limited promotion item that is now unobtainable like the old recruit a friend mounts or pets.

There is already a “loyalty programme” in effect. Albeit not an officially acknowledged one. Every 6-8 months you get a free mount, if you’re a 6-monthly subscriber.

They would have already done it if they weren’t sure they would face a massive backlash for it, believe me. When it comes to squeezing players for money they are light years ahead of anything any one of us can come up with. It has all been carefully considered, and everything that could be implemented without facing the aforementioned backlash was implemented, or is being implemented right now. There is literally no idea about how to milk the playerbase, they haven’t already had.
They even put the essential lore in the bloody books instead of the game…

Why add it when people pay sub anyway?
Because plenty of people are not paying for the entire year.
Then just add some extra mount if you pay 1 year sub
It is an actual embarrassment that people who stay subbed for 6 months on a 1-month sub don’t get the mount at the end of the period.
It would still be cool to have.

Can’t see any benefit to this, we shouldn’t need extra rewards for playing the game - the game is the reward (or atleast it should be).
The current 6 month sub thing is plenty already.
ye from makong zones hard to traverse so players spend more time in em to releasing a 14 year old version of the game that you can only pay for full rpice. they refined the art over the years

I’ve been subbed since vanilla pretty much, except a few months during Legion where I let my sub lapse and played FFXIV.
I don’t see a need for it nor what would be cool about it.

Blizzard already rewards people who buy the 6-month sub with a free mount.
A reward for people who have been playing for 10+ years would be cool.
If like me you only sub with the cheapest option, you get nothing, even if you sub for 8 months during a year. It’s a little annoying but whatever. I get that Blizzard wants the 60 dolars up-front rather than 13 here and there.

But then you can quit whenever you want and not stay subbed for the whole 6 months. And I’m not even being sarcastic here, loyalty programs like this exist to secure future purchases, not reward past ones. Those exist everywhere but especially true for a company based in the capitalist hellscape that is the US of A.

Technically its the 6 months perk (usually a mount) although Im surprised they didnt do something for 12 months the way they did back with a copy of D3.
I wouldnt expect them to offer anything on the month-by-month subs given that most of the people buying their subs with gold would be on them, and not the 6/12 month package.
This is good for those that use it. But it would be far better and more fair if it awarded even those that are subed for 6 months using a month sub/token.

That’s literally what loyalty programs are. In FFXIV, you get some transmog depending on how many months you’ve been subbed. Ultimately, people who pay for 6 months using individual monthly subscriptions pay more than those who pay for the 6 month bundle.

You know that the most expensive option is the monthly option, right? On the basis that you pay for 6 months and you play for 6 months … paying monthly is the most expensive option available. I’m sure Blizzard are quite happy with you paying monthly, as you’re paying more, month on month, than those on a three monthly or 6 monthly subscription.
They’re rewarding people paying the 6 monthly subscription because, although it’s less money for them on a monthly basis, it’s guaranteed money for those 6 months. It is helping them forecast how much income they have, and thus how much they have available to spend.
It’s why people often choose, when given the option of a flat rate basic wage, or a much higher wage based on bonuses, the flat rate basic wage. It gives some peace of mind that they know they can rely on that incoming, irrespective of what happens during that time.
