Is there a way I can detect which specialisation/tab someone has chosen before previewing the talent trees? I can’t check if they know a specific spell as they’re 0/0/0 at this point.

You haven’t selected any specialization if you have no talent points set. Your talent spec is set when you put the first talent point in.
That’s the problem - when you reset your talents you first have to select one of three specialisations as the primary one before you can preview the three talent trees. How can I detect which one the person has chosen to preview? It’s the mechanism that prevents you from adding to non-primary trees that i need to work with.
