What an event! it was really amazing. Well done everyone who organized it!
Amazing event! So packed full with people, fun activities etc. Great to bump into familiar faces from both factions, too. Big kudos to the organizers!
Ok⌠the final announcement first:
The winner, of the 2021 Moonball Masters, was⌠GORAHK WILDAXE! They may now be titled the âMoonball Masterâ! (until next year when all title holders can fight it out to keep their precious titles).
And now⌠the OOC thanks:
Itâs been a fun three days keeping everything ticking over. Between us in the organizing team, ensuring that smooth running occurred for what has to have been something like 300+ unique players each day on average, from 8pm RT to 4am RT, has been a fun ride to say the least. But, thanks to the effort of everyone involved, I think we can say it was a massive success. So, in no particular order, Iâd like to thank the following people:
Lunarglade, for putting up with my neuroticisms and helping imagine, plot, organize and NPC this entire affair. Without them, this wouldnât have happened.
Estalar, Karinar, Ilistria, Yier and Zhivraelle, for NPCing each day. The debates, stories and peace-keeping would have been impossible without you all.
Faadhm. For not only being the Keeper -and- his many treant attendants, but for co-writing the speeches. Our mixture of early hours/last minute RP creation is both insane + based.
Sahoenna, for organizing and running the Loremaster Tournament, as youâve done at other events before. It was great to have both a peaceful and an aggressive event on day one, and without you volunteering, that wouldnât have been possible. Iâd love to have you come back again for the Loremaster Tournament Round 2: The Re-Lore-ening!
Arian Pryce, for his poems and music. Itâs something thatâs hard to do in WoW RP, given the limitations of the game, but you did it, and it gave the Market day so much more flavor. Seeing everyone move around, to buy goods then watch the performances, then back again, and so on, was amazing, and your last performance was great! Once again, next time we do this, Iâd love to see you come back (maybe with more stuff?)
Acrona, for giving so much advice and guidance in the planning stage, and helping with the fireworks! Without you, this years festival wouldnât have been possible.
And finally, a big, massive, giant thank you, to everyone who came. To see so many people, from so many different communities, all RPing together, was amazing and awe-inspiring. I hope you all enjoyed this three-day event! Next year, we can only aim higher⌠so see you then.
Posting for Vashava:
Very pog event! Thanks to everyone who came and bought tea from the Leafpaw company. (special thanks to Beil for being the poggest mediator)
Arian here, Iâm so happy and humbled I got a chance to perform and make the market day more intresting, even with some limentations of the performance. Iâm pleased I could do it and I hope everyone enjoyed the songs and poems i provided.
Have a happy RP everyone. Elune Adore!
Even only attending the last day there was so much activity and great RP! Getting characters drunk and causing chaos is an added bonus.
Whilst it was nice to see the Lunar festival held this year, it was sad to see so many who did not attend, familiar faces were not there amongst many Kaldorei guilds. That being said, at least it was held. My only disappointed note was that seeing goblins using the Moonwells as hot tubbing points with bbq was quite disrespectful, surprised that this was seemingly encouraged.
It was sorted out in-character, I think they knew the mistake they made.
Over all I enjoyed this years Lunar Festival and I canât wait for next years.
It wasnât encouraged. Many people were understandably outraged. Others thought that since they were just fishing for attention, it would be best to give them no such satisfaction and just ignore them until they would leave.
In RP, oneâs venues of dealing with IC disruptive behavior are sadly limited, even if itâs something that realistically would have NPC guards expel the offenders. If people act like their actions wonât have consequences, you canât do much except ignore their presence.
Literally what moon wells are, though. Yeah, the partying is socially tone-deaf, but that can be adressed by reprimanding them IC.
For once I feel bad that my many (subjectively) bad deeds have had me miss out on something. Glad to see a major community event still getting attendance and enjoyment from many groups.
Really enjoyed this yearâs Lunar festival, been a lot of fun all three days, got the chance to play several different chars⌠(and praking people.)
Attended two out of three days, was a fun time. Always love meeting people from all walks of Azeroth in one place.
Keep it up! More festivals!
I had a lot of fun in the festival just like everyone else. Me being a guildless draenei nobody who also happens to be Finnish (Which means I might literally explode if I initiate a conversation.) meant I spent most of the time just watching other folk chat.
But I did get to participate in a few theological debates and a rap battle of all things. I am sure that says something about the server but I am not quite sure what.
It says weâve got bars.
Not sure being guildless means ur a nobody, I went all three days with three different guildless chars. Well⌠one was kinda guildless⌠even thou the guild ainât exactly real.
Now try bring swedish and finnish.
I greatly enjoyed the Lunar Festival, it was a good time to meet old and new people!
Hereâs to next year
As the organiser that kicked said Goblins out of the moonwell. I believe this statement is objectively false.
I belive a great deal of people took it to be encouraged and at first approved (Which it wasnât) since it took a while for anyone with authority to actually deal and say to them: ââLook, what you guys are doing are not okââ. Since it happend early before the event, itâs hard to deal with such matters which will result in the inevitable that alot of people who do take the Moonwells serious sacred to their faith and their culture will be outraged no matter what.
Not pinning it on anyone to been their fault, but damage had been done by the time it had been resolved unfortunately.
