It’s been said countless times on here and even more people will tell me and similar people to stop playing if you don’t enjoy it, get better, or some other answer that isn’t helpful.
I think M+ could be brilliant, when it goes well it’s really fun and engaging. But as a casual older player, without a set schedule of play, it’ll make me quit the game. My experience the last two nights where I had around 8 hours playtime resulted in not a single completed dungeon.
Toxicity is disgusting, M+ is similar to league, and there’s no punishment for being a self serving entitled ****. Tanks are so rare and they know it, they will leave the second someone looks funny at them. Nobody is open to discussion about improving, everyone knows everything and they don’t care to improve.
I’ve decided to run my own keys, and it’s been bricked from a 9 all the way to a 5. As a non meta spec I can be in looking for a group for 2 hours with nothing to show for it, I’ll be declined by people 500points lower than me, I’ll get passed up on keys that I’ve completed 3 levels higher with a ++.
I’m stuck, and it’s not fun… I can’t get near the keys 7 or 8 keys despite having timed 9s and completed 10s. Then to rub it in, other classes will have multiple specs that are all performing insanely well, yet a hunter (with three dps specs) doesn’t even have one that’s worth taking anywhere.
It is a rant, but this is for blizzard. It happened to me and all my friends in Dragonflight and it’ll happen again here. I’ll desperately want to play your game, but you won’t do anything to help me… unless I reroll a mage.
I have a tank warrior with 2227, so another person that assumes but doesn’t actually know. When I tank I don’t hold the group to ransom, I don’t leave if someone thinks I could have done something better. Tanks don’t have it easy, but at least they get groups…
I pay my subscription and I want to play a hunter, I shoot bows IRL and I enjoy having a bow ingame. Why do I have to play another way to enjoy the game, I didn’t put the hunter class in the game, blizzard did.
Then play, but dont bring your entitlement here. If ppl dont wanna play tank, expect long queues as dps. Its nothing Blizz can do much about, but players can. By treating tanks better.
Entitlement for a subbed game, get over yourself. I pay a subscription to play and if it doesn’t meet my standard i’ll vote with my money and not play… simple as. This post isn’t for you and you useless suggestions, it’s for blizzard to come up with a solution or lose subs.
Nope. You come here blaiming Blizz for the lack of tanks, when in reality you can blame yourself. Who wanna put up with the toxic dps that yells at tanks for any minor mistake.
What do you want Blizz to do? Force ppl to play tanks?
The stupidity and entitlement !! of your and all the 8000 other daily post about lack of tanks is absurd. Treat tanks better, and more ppl will tank. Dont come here crying over “I pay so I demand bla bla bla…” nonesense.
Blizz has stated themself, tanks dont like they whey they are treated, so they dont like to pug. What do you think the best solution would be? Hm?
Why does everyone assume that a DPS has to be toxic? Not once have I said anything about being toxic to tanks or berating them in any way.
It’s a FACT that there aren’t enough tanks, there are also many tanks that know this. For example a tank was continually pulling mobs back and was always on the move with a pack, I asked them to try to remain grouped and in the same position if possible. They told me to “Shut up and stop moaning” and then left. It was a friendly suggestion to help the DPS that benefited from a stationary grouping.
The issue goes both ways, and the community definitely needs to get better to improve the situation. But blizzard also need to help the situation… because we pay for a service. Do you pay your taxes and put out your own fires, maintain your neighbourhood roads, pay for your kids to go to school.
Stop defending stupidity and learn to look at things critically.
The suggestion that it’s the responsibility of dps classes (4/13 btw) to just reroll is so deeply unserious it’s mockable, and the idea that blizzard are just powerless and it’s the responsibility of the players to address this imbalance is just defeatist. I sure hope the devs don’t think this way. For sure, they can’t mind control dps players into wanting to tank or heal. Blizzard have access to data and, believe it or not, they do collect feedback.
If it’s a community issue, Blizzard can improve moderation.
If it’s a fun issue, Blizzard can do class redesigns.
If it’s because the damage is godawful spiky (my personal complaint) then … well I have a whole wishlist on that topic.
If it’s because people are afraid of the responsibility, erm, I’d need more time to think but I ain’t a dev so it’s not really my problem
Oh, and while it would be require a significant rework, dungeons could be made 6 players?
I respect your opinion. It is just as valid as player’s who believe that this is a problem created by the playerbase. Same with class tier lists and talent builds.
hmm … people sure do love their tier lists. Funnily enough the best tanks I’ve had this season were all prot palas.
The interesting question though, is if an issue is caused by a group and not a singular entity, such as the playerbase, how do you solve it? I don’t think “the playerbase should do X” is a workable solution. This is why I typically look at these issues as blizzard’s responsibility, as they have the most control over our environment.
I agree, players could do more, but incentivise people to play in a pleasantly and friendly manner and punish people for being toxic. Timeout people who leave, have a rewarding/rating system that’s player driven for recommendations. Show stats on people leaving and people staying until the end.
I’m not saying it’s the answer, but if you have a +% loot drop to people with a high “pleasant rating” and a -% loot drop chance to those that have a low, I bet you’d cut out 80% of this behaviour. You would completely eliminate it if you gave +10% damage healing and hp as a friendly person buff… this isn’t the answer but it’s a strong example of linking player power to behaviour.
These problems are all caused by the anti social state of the game which is deeply rooted in the modern game design. You have two solutions - join/build a community of like minded individuals you can enjoy the game with, or unsubscribe and move on. You’ve got to respect yourself and make a change, Blizzard will not solve it for you.
It is very tempting to generalize and oversimplify, but the truth is much more complicated than “either or”.
I was very active during season 4 and the situation with m+ was a lot better, people in pugs tended to be much more social and understanding. in TWW season 1 it is still the same game yet the people behave differently.
“Blizzard will not solve it for you”, I dunno maybe you pay your subscription with gold and regard blizzard as untouchable gods, but most of us are paying customers and it is perfectly normal for customers demand changes before leaving alltogether.
