Ever since Legion, the approach has more and more become to provide solutions to problems in such a way that they created more problems, in order for them to provide new solutions, ad infinitum.
We know for a fact that automatic matchmaking systems for PvE content are severely lacking in quality. How do we know this? Look at the difficulty it currently supports; none. LFR, normal/heroic/TW dungeons, … Heck, not sure if it’s still current, but in the past you got a buff for using the matchmaking tool for dungeons (stacks depended on the size of the group you queued up with) - just because grouping up with random people tends to … right … be quite a challenge.
Add the requirement to do all 5s to go to 6s, and you really create an abomination of a system where the (currently) struggling players unite into a cesspit of despair.
It’s a great way to nerf all the M+ levels which grant decent rewards to a Delve-level though. That ought to happen in such a system, to make it somewhat usable.
Yes, it is a bad experience.
Investing time in forming a group, starting a dungeon only for someone to leave at the second or third boss.
Time wasted and fun lost.
This is why I don’t play for long, just for a month to experience the new content and that’s it.
People go offline and sabotaging groups, getting reports in this manner and risking real account disciplinary action, instead of just leaving and getting a tag that has no negative impact in game?
And they think they “game” the system?
Man I cannot wait for the new threads with people complaining about getting banned/disciplined while having done nothing wrong…
There is such a vote. It is called joining a group. If you see that in the group you joined they are characters of questionable ability to perform, just leave then and there.
If you start the key then you take the risk that the pugs you found can be pretty bad and you are stuck with them until the end of the key (or until you leave).
My experience for now is that there are less leavers in 10s keys, and in higher keys nothing changes much, since the vote goes on and people decide to leave. I have yet to see someone going afk or dcing after a failed vote.
For now it seems the system is working pretty well. As time goes on when people understand what the deserter debuff does it will be even more chill, since people will not be afraid of getting it.
You’re reporting them for sabotage, which they might have dced and might have not. Blizzard has the tools to track it (let’s say if they log on another character or if they remain logged in bnet).
Thing is that if the option to fake dc becomes popular, then blizzard can easily crack down on it (like they did with people that joined keys just to leave them).
