M+ enemy spell mechanics

Anyway, I see a lot of posts here addressing the current state of m+ and difficulty. In my experience (3k+ most seasons, 3.8k last season strictly pugging) it all boils down to enemy spell cues. In the past you needed 1-2 good players who understood mechanics in a pug. Now those players can no longer carry the other 3-4 who donā€™t understand mechanics and just zug zug.

I endorse ALL other changes even the ones people are complaining about in this forum. I work full time, busy life schedule and sure appreciate the +10 increase in difficulty and tyranical+fortified merge. This saves me SO much time - thnx blizz! :slight_smile: <3

Tanks and healers are now in a good place! In Shadowlands we had tanks that were gods. All other 4 players might be killed, but the tank? Tank will die if they chose to die. Healers were just a third wheel DPS, where holy paladins had more DPS burst than most DPS classes (as seen in MDI) and priests were invited just because it was nice to have a pocket mini-BL not because they were necessarily amazing healers. Again, well done bliz! <3

Enemy spell mechanics are the only issue. In every dungeon but specially GB? You enter this place with a party who just knows how to zug zug, 0 use of stun, using kicks when THEY WANT to use it if they feel like it and not necessarily to stop most damage on your team and boom! Catastrophe.

Please revert this. Allow spell cues to be skept by CC, stuns, disruption etc. Give enemies at least 10 seconds cooldown until they cast again. Once this is done, the game will be puggable again.

Right now I am considering to leave the game or go back to raiding - I stopped raiding in WotLK when I had loads of time and still at uni :smiley:

Also, why not add 1 last bit of rant: DF s4 we had like a 5 item level gap between hero and mythic gear. Now itā€™s like 16? Or whatever? Piss take :slight_smile: plx let us not have to raid <3 <3

I agree with you complaining about the changed spell quew of mobs. And how horrible it is.

What I disagree with are comments like the one above. Its not that people dont know how to CC and just ZugZugā€¦

Its that you require a LOT of coordination to pull off acceptable CCs.

Since you mention GB I will give you 1 example :

The big giants in the room of 2nd boss. When you pull those, there are 3 casters and the big elemental.

The 3 casters do 2 things : CC and dot a player (needs interrupt ASAP) and ā€œmachine gunā€ bolts. The giant does 1 big AoE.

So you got 3 casters machine gunning bolts, and if they are allowed to cast just ONE of those right after the Giantā€™s AoE, it means that 1 person dies in 1-shot overlap mechanic. What that means is that if ONE person overlaps his kick with someone else, a player dies GUARANTEED.

And that is where the difficutly lies. You dont just have to kick. You also have to assign each caster to a DD such that he kicks the CC they do, AND the ā€œmachine gunā€ casts 0.5s before the AoE to give time for the healer to heal people. And if that execution is not perfectly done, a person dies.

Thank you! I completely agree and your example is absolutely perfect. Really hope devs are made aware of this issue. Tbh when pugging even when CC would stop the enemy cast cue the game was already hard enough. Now itā€™s just impossible to play. I wonder if the changes were aimed at MDI teams? Anyway, pugging is impossible. And I wouldnā€™t be surprised if the majority of players, like myself, can only pug due to irregular gaming times. insert sad face

And I havent even mentioned the fact that if you got ā€œmachine gunā€ casters with random targeting greatly increases the chances of them targeting the same exact person and 1-shoting them with 3 bolts that are 0.1s apart from each-otherā€¦

So now you are presented with a choice. (A) Hold kicks for those really, really probably situations of double targeting and/or nasty overlaps ā€¦ which means the healer goes bananas spot healing everyoneā€¦ or (B) use the kick to ease the HPS requirements but pray that overlaps dont happen.

ORā€¦ you could do what the pros doā€¦

Simplify your life. They simply dish out so much DPS. Such crazy bananas DPS that the packs simply die in 10s. Which is 1 tail sweep from the Aug and 1 Cap totem from the Shaman. And that is why they finish their +14s and +16s with like 3/4 minutes left in the timer.
