M+ etiquette

The point of this is to know how much we are willing to take.

Easy question:

At what point is it socially acceptable to leave a key?

  1. Suboptimal dps, i.e. below 1m average for people with 626 ilvl.
  2. No interrupts whatsoever of 1 dps of the group.
  3. No interrupts whatsoever of 2 dps of the group.
  4. No interrupts whatsoever of 3 dps of the group.
  5. No defensives use whatsoever of 1 dps of the group.
  6. No defensives use whatsoever of 2 dps of the group.
  7. No defensives use whatsoever of 3 dps of the group.
  8. No do affixes, i.e. shaman/priest having dispell totem/mas dispell but not using it asap.
  9. No do affixes, i.e. shaman/mage/priest/pally/monk/evo/druid not dispelling themselves.
  10. Suboptimal healer, i.e. regrowth spambot healing 400k hps.
  11. Suboptimal tank, i.e. not moving fast enough out of Vociferous Indoctrination in CoT/getting oneshot multiple times on key mechanics/using defensives when reaching 10% hp after taking damage, etc.

My personal opinion is a combination of a few of these, as a resto druid for example, this week i’m specially edgy, this affix is a pain up the bum and when some dude just doesn’t want to dispell himself because, according to him, with one aoe heal i can dispell the 5 debuffs i can get triggered pretty quickly, imagine if wild growth would heal +50% hp partywide… would’nt that be a dream

If we keep dying over and over again and its obvious that is going to persist for the entire run i just spare myself the pain and leave. And that can be for any of those 11 reasons you mentioned.

When it comes to if the key is timeable or not, i have a rule to never be the first one to leave a depleted key so i always pray when a key gets bricked that someone else leaves first so that i can then leave.

Depends how high the key is. Anything below 10 you will usually have atleast one person in your group that u just described. Which is annoying yes, but it comes with the nature of pugging. But once you reach 10 I think it would be fair to leave a group under the conditions u described.

tons of time i would like to leave but i dont if the dps is just garbage.
apparently we are already back to carry one trash player in +8s that got invited by his friend the key leader (usually the tank)

most dps players dont bind their dispell, so if i eould leave on that i would never complete a key, same goes for low dps or pressing a def cd before the dmg actually happens.

i leave if the key is absolutely unbearable. typically terrible slow, random deaths to nothing, no kciks, no cc, standing in all crap and doing no dps at all

When they fail at basic mechanics and are pulling trash for you to a point it causes wipes.

Last time i left a key this season was in NW +9 when i was invited into a group of i think friends and they were OK but for some uknown reasons there was person that was doing 400k dps since begining till stichflesh
We wiped twice and i was like ok i will give them one more chance
we failed again because we were basically playing 2dps tank and heal
So i left

And this happens all the time i tried to do my Grim batol +10 last week
and i invited a group of people like Tank and heal and then i invited again group of friends i think it was shaman and something
they were all higher score then me
They bricked my key like they were never in grim batol meanwhile they had it done on 10 before
I left my own key when i saw it’s not going to be timed and then tank whispered me to come back for weekly
and i’m not gonna say what i whispered him back but let’s say i would be muted right after that
