M+ is a hamster wheel, I'm sick and tired of it

Dungeons are just hallways, there’s almost no route to pick, instead you pick whatever mobs you want to kill on the way there.
Check out BRD, a full out fleshed out god damn city. You could go in 7 different directions and end up somewhere else.

But what really irks me is I’m literally farming gear in Season 1, only for it to do the same thing next season, and the season after, and after. There’s no “end” towards this crap. Only towards the end of the expansion where it doesn’t matter anymore.
If I want an item, I have to be extremely lucky and on top of that, THAT VERY SAME ITEM IS MADE REDUNDANT NEXT PATCH/SEASON.

This is just utterly depressing.

How is this game an RPG again? How? Sure loosely applied, any game can be an RPG, hell you could turn Pokemon Go into an MMORPG if you carefuly chose a few words to explain the game.

Bro, this isn’t an MMORPG at all. This is just blatant copy pasted content from Diablo 3. If I wanted to play a loot simulator hack n slash game, I would’ve been playing that game.
I play World of Warcraft, for the exploration aspect of the game and for the world I could immerse and lose myself into.

It’s also just a lazy design on top. You don’t have to make new dungeons anymore, besides a few, maybe one or two if generous. Meanwhile previous expansions got new dungeons through the expansion and there were more than the usual 2 they’ve been pooping out since Legion.

I absolutely hate this crap and it’s for sure one way to lose player interest.
Why the HELL would you turn WoW into a blatant copy paste of DIablo 3? What drives you? Whatever works I guess.

This ain’t it fam, maybe there’s a reason Blizzard changed sub time and made 2 months mandatory, maybe some people realised they came back later into the expansion and they are told to still run the same boring butt content as they did before. “BuT ThiS TiMe oN A HiGHeR DiFfiCulTY”

Stick your rifts from Diablo 3 where the sun don’t shine. Torghast and M+ are awful and don’t belong in an MMO.

HELL 4 DIFFICULTIES IN RAIDS IS ALREADY TOO MUCH TOO
You wanna know why the power creep from freshly dinged level 60’s and 60’s geared into one patch is so god damn high? ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ read this simple sentence above.

Man BRD was an amazing Dungeon. It was the place that really made me fall in love with running Dungeons.

And you are right! Dungeons are not the same anymore. In fact, even in TBC Dungeons starting following the Hallway formula you mentioned. I remember noticing at the time.

However, I kinda respect the reason for having to do it like that, following a formula to make it more appealing to other players. And I remember reading an interview where they said alot of the old Dungeons were thrown together last minute to get them out on time.

Its a shame they moved on. But it was for the greater good.

At least now Classic is available to go and run BRD again if you want to

It is not an RPG in Shadowlands, it is a Season Pass game, whose only purpose is to prey on the fear of missing out by making people grind for carrots like the Keystone Master mount before it gets removed forever. Just like Rocket League and League of Legends do like six times a year.
Because they know that the game is not good enough to retain players outside of the final patch, which has all the content unlocked and more time to get the FOMO cash grabs.

Then uhm…just don’t do them? PvP is also not my cup of tea. So…I just dont do pvp then(on a serious scope anyway). Simple logic?

There are 4 difficulties so everyone can pick their difficulty. I don’t think that many players are actually doing all the 4.

And just don’t do M+ when you don’t like it. That is totally acceptable.

So why are you doing it? Are you at gunpoint?

Enough with the complaining about being tired of doing something you are not forced to do. Just don’t if you hate it.

So go explore. You’re posting on a level 20 character, so you’ve got 40 levels worth of content to immerse yourself into there. If that’s not something you want to do then go do one of the other million things that are available in the game.

How can you expect people to be sympathethic to your problem when you’re the cause of it?

What do you see different from TBC/WotLK/Cata/MoP/WoD ?

Since gear becoming obsolete every big patch it was always a thing. The only difference you got now is M+ that is a repeatable content where you can get gear, but ONLY if you WANT TO. If you don’t want to, and act like pre-legion era, then just do Heroic Dungeons to get ready for raid, then raid and that is it.

P.S. I love a more linear approach when it comes to dungeons. One of the reasons I’ve stopped doing M+ after Legion is exactly the fact that the dungeons are “too alive” for me. I work on the ideea of “FULL CLEAR, If anything moves, we kill it”, but in M+ that doesn’t work, and especially in BFA/SL.

P.P.S. Even after doing L8 Corridors, while ocasionally doing Torghast, I still do FULL CLEAR RUN. That mentality sticks with me, makes me feel better when everything is DEAD.

The reality is that eventually the dungeon will become “solved” and people will just rush the quickest path.

While having the risk that those who don’t know those paths will be harassed.

The simple answer is - its not rpg anymore

its seasonal action-slasher game instance symulator .

Check out the stockade.

You came to the same conclusion I came when I started not caring about gear. Because it all becomes redundant.

Sigh, the majority of the issues people constantly say on this forum is ultimately community driven.

We need a way to measure players - Gearscore.
Becomes iLvl - this is no longer enough - RaiderIO.
We want an alternative to raiding - M+ - this is just the same old with no real progression.
I want the game to be new and exciting - instantly downloads addons and watches youtube guides.
I want gear to feel like valuable - SL Loot (not defending this just ultimately lets face it, in response to the community)
SL Loot - I WANT GEAR

Just look at classic if you think its wrong, poorly optimised classes can perform well because the knowledge and resources are everywhere and the that’s what the playerbase uses.

Bet 99% of people complaining on this forum use the exact talent set up wowhead suggets, then the inevitable argument is “well i cant do content if i dont” that’s the real hamster wheel you’re trying to describe, the community following min maxing high end strategies then complain its not fun.

EDIT - let me further demonstrate this, a guildie was looking for a group for a +15 key (i wasnt invovled) people asked to join they said “no sorry i want (proceeds to name META team comp”. Now i dont really do alot of keys, just do a few at whatever my key is at for that week for the vault, but if you listen to any of the “higher end” players in regards of m+ they all say any class can do +15 quite easily. So why would this person rather pug than take guildies, well because they care too much for one but mainly because thats what the community effectively tells them must be used

M+ is Blizzards way of e-sporting dungeons. The game has evolved to the point where large sprawling dungeons are no longer viable to the playerbase because their focus on how content is rolled out in the game has changed.

M+ is what is being focused on because it is, as you say a hamster wheel that is more or less infinitely repeatable and there isn’t as much work that needs to be done elsewhere to create content.

Pair this up with other time-gatey features and you have the perfect recipe to keep people signed in routinely and keep them subscribed.

It isn’t good - at all. During BfA they cut down on actual tangible content for players to do and replaced them with incredibly gamey systems and thus made the world and content pool smaller which in turn have given expansions an empty feeling.

Comparing how ‘complete’ legion felt for all its flaws it’s a shame how the direction has headed. M+ on its own is a cool concept and I don’t really cry for the loss of BRD style dungeons but noticed how peoples tolerence for it dropped when there was less to do elsewhere.

Good.

Now think about the fact that there are people who play more than you/ better than you, and Blizzard has to somehow address how fast they will consume the available content, otherwise they will lose customers.

And scalable difficulty content with scalable rewards is a way to address that.

someone already said what you said no point repeating it over and over and over … and over

chec me out

I’d say the slash is very underwhelming here, no blood at all, no gore

FOMO existed all the way back in vanilla. I always find it hilarious when people act as if it’s a new thing.

he didn’t act as if it’s a new thing though. I find it hilarious when people criticise something that was never said

you cannot act as if FOMO is an issue with Keymaster without acknowledging stuff like the old pvp titles, Scarab Lord, Atiesh, all previous glad titles etc etc.
