Unless I got this completely wrong, you can only exchange a key at the end of a dungeon if the dungeon you just ran was not you key, right?
Why is that?? Im a lowly DPS running my own keys because I sure as hell am not getting invited to others. But after finally getting a group together and completing a dungeon in a pug, I cant get a chance to change the key to something I want? seems odd.
Surely the guys unable to get into keys easily and putting up there own key are in need more than most to be given the chance to exchange it…
yes but if I dont want that dug, i dont have an option to exchange it unless I get invited to someone else’s key and run the dungeon
But the fact that you can get invited to others keys means you are probably less in need to exchange it than someone who is running there own key and cant get into others…
Plus the fact that it has to be a key equal or more than the one I have, so I cant go and help a lower level key and get to exchange mine… Really unfriendly to those just trying to grind there own keys…
You’ve already had the randomising factor everyone else has had for that dungeon. You completed the key and randomly got another, you’ve had your reroll so to speak.
You can complete another at the same level (or higher) as your key and reroll it at the end if you don’t like it.
I get keys I don’t like all the time. I reroll them when I do other dungeons.
When you exchange a key, you get a random key. You can’t immediately exchange it again, unless you time another dungeon of the same or higher key level. When you finish your own key, you also get a new random key. It’s basically the same as if you had exchanged it. (The benefit is that you also get a new key if you didn’t finish it in time, as long as you did finish it.)
If you have trouble getting into groups, look into joining some Discord communities that focus on M+. The two I always recommend are Chill Streak and No Pressure. The only requirements are that you’re patient and friendly.
There is a large part of the community in m+ that want to / or can only commit to pugging… DPS is pretty rough to get into group unless you out gear it completely… think giving them the option to reroll a key they don’t want would be a good idea. Peace.
That is a whole different kettle fish. I’m just explaining why the key isn’t eligible for reroll at that point. I think Blizzard knows that if people could endlessly just keep rerolling keys, or just choose what dungeon we wanted, we’d all just get the easy fast ones each time and skip all the others.
You’re doing great and at 2.6k PuGs shouldn’t be impossible. I do appreciate being dps is always a bit of a pain as you’re up against the biggest group of players. I only ever play dps too.
Do give the communities a whirl though if you’re struggling to get into groups. You can do your key or just other people’s.
I’d love to be able to actually pick my keys, but admittedly it would result in me playing the game less, because I’d be done sooner with specific drops and portals, and then only do the quick and easy dungeons for vault slots.
I’ve been chasing a Rise +20 key for a while now, but can’t seem to get one of my own. I keep getting AD and BRH. At least my friends always want to run these with me, but Rise is the last portal I need. Yesterday a friend had one, but … how do I put this … it wasn’t the “right friend” for this particular key, and then we went 17 seconds over when we re-did it on 19 too. If I could have picked the dungeon, I’d have done Rise 20 all week long.
Check out the no pressure discord, they run a LOT of keys and the groups are by and large decent. I’m happy to join for one if it will help, I have a tank and 2 healers that are more than up to the job.
