But what is “extremely low keys” ? +2’s are equivalent of +12’s from before… In week 1… We have very casual players running keys in week 1 that before took them weeks to enter. That context is important to remember. My experience is, a lot of people are rushing into content because of FOMO… They scuff at M0 and want to start at +2, the second they time one, they want to push +4 even though they are undergeared and don’t know the mechanics… Why? Probably because they still compare it to how a +4 worked before.
The notion still sticks in the back of the mind of a lot of players… That +2’s are “entry level”…
But should you really be “learning” in +4 or +5 keys? heck, even +3? I would assume that everyone that joins a timed key already knew the basic mechanics and what the different mobs do.
In this context 2/3 is extremely low. Go lower and its not a key anymore.
It leads to the weird conundrum that to get invited to a 3 you sorta need to check the person has done the key on a 2. Sorta makes sense… then flip it around, thats insane gatekeeping.
But that’s where you should “learn”. Again, if you’re trying to learn the dungeons you don’t start at +2’s… If you do, you probably have an idea of the mechanics and what to do.
Not really… I would invite people to +2s not really looking at anything, but I just don’t understand people that then complain about leavers if they don’t know anything…
In this context you have to change your perception of how the key system works. But if you just go “In this context +2s are extremely low, so I will treat them as entry point dungeons” then that’s where I fall off.
I did the dungeons on a M0 level first, to at least understand what to do, as… Let’s be honest, you can face tank pretty much everything in HC.
There is imo two sides to the coin… If you do something with a timer, you can be super elitist and leave at the first minor thing… But you can also be super clueless and have no idea what to do (my experience with people in Mist) and thus also ruining the run for others.
No idea, it’s not in my ability to judge whether they are doing their job or not. That I am not qualified to do.
The only thing that catches my eyes, are just when people (Not you) make threads or comments complaining about not getting invited to +4 keys and what they are rocking is 590ilvl or calling the game toxic because people leave and wont let them learn the mechanics in +2’s because they still see +2 in the eyes of the old system, and scuff at M0’s…
Because in DF they were doing +10’s, so surely they should be able to start at +2 and not have to do M0 right?
And again, I am in no way shape or form advocating for or defending toxicity and or people that leave after 1 wipe because they want a perfect run… But, I just don’t have much sympathy for the other side either, that refuse to realize that M0 is actually a higher level than before and that is a perfectly fine place to learn, as there isn’t a timer either.
To be fair game is giving people free 600 ilvl gear from delves so if someone is 590 and no one is inviting them that means person doesn’t care that much about the game
No pressure has ‘normal’ lfg-channels for up to M+10. But as a seperate category there is a ‘Boiler room’ for the highest stuff. Allthough, probably not active in week 1.
