You should have a better look at trinkets and how bad they are. Especially healer trinkets. There is no question that those are utter trash

Remove vault completely and be done with it. It only serves as a paycheck at the end of the week which only turns gameplay into a workload.
I’m not a big fan of your solution - in my opinion the problem is the vault itself and you’re just slapping band aid on it - but you have identified the same thing I did which is that a system that draws from a loot pool of literally every usable item is absurd. Always has been.
How many runs is respecting your time? 2? 3? 10?
We had the weekly chest which was worse
The issue lies in the fact that the vault is the primary source of Myth-track items for M+ players. This inherently means that RNG has a much bigger effect on your gearing progress - especially bad with the huge loot table - yep. But that isn’t the issue, really.
Just rework that.
One solution, the simplest (imo) is to remove (yes remove) Myth track gear overall. Mythic raiding becomes cosmetics-only, making Hero track items the last in line, obtainable by doing the desired content (and not just by crossing your fingers on Wednesday).
But by doing this, we will step on some raiders’ toes. So at best we can ask for adding Myth-track items at M+15s orso…
you can always end playing char once its fully hc geared . you unlocked all the transmog and unless you plan to push ? anythign above that is meanigless
Yeah. No.
60% of the trinkets are at least 20% weaker than the top ones, and some are closer to 30%. In every single scenario
I want a 620 ilvl trinket to perform like a 620 ilvl trinket. Seems like you don’t mind that it doesn’t.
there are also players who dont use any embelisments or crafted gear at all and playing just fine.
if i managed to get to 660+ on multiple alts just from dvelves and literaly 1 m+ per week ? yeah i dont need crafted gear for any content i do.
more garbage > more gameplay > more engagement metrics > blizzard wins
Best idea ever. Sounds like something I could have come up with
Also has numerous positive knock-on effects…
And probably more beneficial effects that I´m not thinking of right now.
I think going 8/8 and keeping the costs is fine TBH… everything else will just garner more complaints about artificially entending the grind and “timegating” gear progression (it´s not timegating by any stretch, but whiners love to throw buzzwords around to prove just how clueless they are ).
And if people get done with gearing faster, they either unsub so it doesn´t get scratches, or they start realizing the difference between them and the people they claim to be able to compete with was always one of skill and never one of gear… which might lead to a handful of them actually trying to improve, which is never a bad thing.
And as a bonus, in general the most effective way to silence toxic elitists is to give them exactly the same setup the pros use, let them on the track because they already know everything anyway, and watch them cause a flaming wreck in turn 1 while everyone else just points their fingers and laughs.
The difference is very, very far from from 20-30%. You are not able to name one spec, that loses, I dare say, 10% performance on a leg piece item because it had the two worst secondary stats on it.
And remember, it’s only 1 out of 16 item slots, so poppycock like “compare the performance of a full crit/versa bapance druid against a full haste/mastery one” doesn’t work here. We are examining a slot, not a spec.
Which comes to my second point.
Those legs that are objectively the worst pants for the observed spec, are actualy BiS for another spec.
This is not the case with trinkets. The game’s endgame is littered with trinkets which complete garbage for every spec, every build, in every single scenario. Try and justify that.
Very good argument. Show me where can I buy 658 to 678 item level trinkets in abundance for gold. Show me, and you might not look like a total tool.
No, don’t compare freely tradeable upgrade with something that you have one or two, VERY SLIM chances of getting each week. You are better than this, mate.
See my point with Auction sourced items. But I go one-step further with this one. If Blizzard looks and they can see in the data that less than 0.1% of the playerbase is using it, then yes, it should be removed.
There’s no reason to trick players into playing suboptimally.
why do you want to extend your suffering ?
like i get that some people have masohistik kinks - and its perfectyl fine - but why would oyu want to suffer even longer grind ?
Well, it´s actually a shorter grind, because you don´t have the Myth track on top of it to upgrade again (though with the rising costs he proposes it would in fact be slightly more than teh 60 crests> hero that current Myth track offers)… but I’m not going to complain, because you’ve perfectly illustrated my very first point.
Though it does beg the question: if you consider playing WoW “suffering”, why exactly are you playing again?
well i definelty consider crest farm suffering.
there is a good reason why blizzard cut the upgrade cost so much
This I can totally get behind, crest farming is just annoying AF, esp. for players that don´t actually enjoy M+. Your statement just seemed to be much more general in nature, to me it kind of read as “gearing is suffering”, so I had to ask
Imagine playing the game to… enjoy it. Oh, the horror!
well thats why i havent farmed crests even once
i developed my own style of playing and im happy with it.
1 dungeon 4 dvelves and then chill . and im slowly slowly getting to where i want to be aka get the hc and mythic mogs on 7 chars i like transmogs this season
i developed my own style of playing and im happy with it.
Now that’s the spirit, this is what this game needs. You have set realistic goals and you enjoy yourself while getting there.
