M+6 - the end?

I’m a Retribution Paladin and I’ve been trying to queue for M+6 Dungeon for 3 days in a row and I get rejected from absolutely every single group, 3 days in a row. Doesn’t matter if it’s the last spot or there’s just one person who just started. Instant “Declined”, every time.

My item level is 199, that shouldn’t be an issue, right? Now, I am NOT complaining, I’m just asking if there’s anything preventing a Ret Pala to be invited to a an M6 group? Like a group leader sitting there and going “meh, ret pala, this one is too mediocre, we need X instea of him”?

Again, I’m not complaining, just want to know if there’s logic behind this. Thanks.

understand that when you’re signing up to other peoples keys there will likely be 20-30 DPS players instantly signing up to pick from.

those will definitely include better classes than yours (ret is not that meta atm).

you’re better off running your own keys so you get to choose who to invite yourself, or reroll to holy or prot.

ret palas are absolutely fine in M+, I think it’s because your score might be a little low.

Just push your own key, easiest way to get higher keys and will naturally get you invited into other peoples keys more easily over time.

do keep in mind that just because something is “fine” (i.e average) it doesn’t translate well into pugging.

people will absolutely at every point choose a meta class like ww/hunter/fire mage/boomkin (among others) over a ret paladin because they are not even close, and that’s where the issue for OP is. also to keep in mind that said fotm classes probably have similar or higher gear and IO score than him, further contributing to him never getting priority over any of those dozens of people signing up at the same time.

just wanted to point that out.

Aw :frowning: Sounds like the title of the thread is just about right then…

By the way, this is something I’ve been noticing in PvP too. It’s not about the player, but it’s about the class and spec. For example, it appears that ALL the Hunters in a BG or RBG do roughly about the same amount of damage and ALL the DKs too, and then all the Warriors, etc.

And the gap is consistent, like for example in an Epic BG the Boomies will always have 1m+ damage, while a group of other classes will always have ~500k damage. Never mind the player, the skills or the experience, you’re just stuck to a certian frame you can’t move too much from.

i’m pretty sure it’s your current Rio score preventing you from getting into groups… You should be looking at upping that a bit

Happy hunting! <3

well in the pug world, yes it’s part of the problem, but it’s not the whole problem if you know what I mean?

if you start leading your own groups, you wont have to deal with the prejudice from LFG groups because you are the boss man, so that’s the #1 solution I would suggest doing. The other is simply to find a guild that likes to run M+ in their off time and do that.

Sorry, I have absolutely no idea what that is… Last time I played WoW was in roughly about 2015…

ahh, let me help you out mate, head to Raider. io (webpage) and search up your toon, theres also an addon you can get called the same, it’s basically a scoring system (Think like rated PvP) Through that you should be able to see what dungeons you need done at a higher level to get a better score.

So i can tell you now that you’ve got 3 timed dungeons (repeats of the same don’t count unless they’re at a higher level or better timed) so you definately need other timed dungeons , your best timed is a +4, and with only 3 different dungeons there is sadly no way you’ll be considered for someones +6 key :\

yeah it’s essentially what people use to vet players before inviting them to their groups, to make sure that the player has done dungeons at the level they’re applying to.

so for example when I make a group for a +12 key, I generally want to make sure that the people I invite have at least timed the same dungeon on a +10 and have an overall score closer to what you’d expect from timing all or most +10s.

Oh wow… yeah, just found that while you were writing it… Epic bad :frowning: I pretty much and most probably have been running Raids and Dungeons in so many expansions wince the start of the game when a portion of the players rejecting me now were still babies back then… But my “score” is based on an addon taking into consideration only the current content?..

Some 15 years ago players had to get their attunements, that was something of a “score” system too, but then it was the game not allowing you to progress further… not the players and certainly not based on “the past 1 month”…

yes, it’s based off of the current expansion only, and the score resets after every season, however the addon still displays your highest score from earlier seasons if they’ve got it turned on.

yeah so it’s taking into account what you’ve done for this season (you can also go back and look at previous ones, but that doesn’t show up on the addon) It’s a good pointing stick to see who knows what to do and all that jazz

Think like this: For a 2.1k RBG group, you wanna make sure the ones you’re taking have experience, same goes for keys

I have no idea how to queue for a timed dungeon, they are all called “Mythic Keystone” and that’s it

A guy in-game told me that when I have lat’s say Myhic Stone for The Necrotic Wake Level 6, (which I currently do), all I can queue for and gain progress in is… well… The Necrotic Wake on Level 6  Which I’m getting rejected at

you don’t “queue for a timed dungeon”, you simply go to the premade group finder and go type “+5” or “+6” to show dungeons around that level that players have listed, and apply thereafter.

your own key is locked to one dungeon, and you can find that key in your bags. to activate it you just insert it into the font inside the dungeons entrance when everyone is inside.

if you time your key, it upgrades to a different dungeon on another level
if you fail to time your key, it downgrades to a different dungeon one level lower
if you fail to time your key and leave instead of finishing it, it will downgrade to the same dungeon at one level lower.

in Premade groups then dungeons, look for the +3 +14 +999 etcetc, it’ll tell you which dungeon the group is made for on the listing too, now as you’ve only done 3 different dungeons timed, i would suggest starting out by doing the remaining ones at 3-5’s is a good starting point

I’ll give u a nice tip, and that is to try and join a cross-realm community and try to get into some keys there. That way u dont have to keep getting declined all the time, and u can build up your rio score, experience and make some friendships aswell

Have a look in the communities recruitment section, but i’ll leave a link to a community that i have been a part of since i returned in bfa and was clueless about m+, rio and all that jazz: (Alliance) Scared of Dungeons EU EN - #171 by Sinaaki-argent-dawn

Open the community tab in game (J), press join community and add the code and voila!

I checked you on

You have 97 score… You’ve done 3 M+ this entire expansion

and you wonder why you don’t get invited?

Seems pretty clear to me

So I need to start with all Dungeons on M0+ cause nobody is rejecting me there, then build up this fake scrore which is supposedly telling all the other players that you know how the fake ranking works… and that’s it?

I mean, the Achievements system was introduced in the end of 2008 with WoTLK and they did some form of back-dating of already completed “things” if I’m not mistaken, for the same year (2008)… So even and since I actually have a ton of experience from the very begining of the game, it pretty much doesn’t count for anything. Makes me wonder why do people even bother asking for your experience in PvP in the first place…

Actually, I’ve done more like 14-15, but there’s no way for you to know that now, is there? Just been doing them the wrong way apparently. [quote=“Hunllef-draenor, post:24, topic:239073”]
You don’t HAVE to start at any particular level, you start wherever you feel comfortable, whether that’s with YOUR key or somebody elses doesn’t matter.

I’m totally lost at this point… I am item level 199, the Mythic 6 reward item level is 197, which means I’m borderline between M6 and M7 (gear wise) and not overreaching in this regard… But I can’t join M6, cause of my RIO, so I asked if I need to start from M0, where the answer is no, you can start wherever you feel comfortable at… Which M6… and… ok
