I’m thinking about restarting my subscription, but would like to make sure that the game works on Mac. Have the issues been solved or does it still crash?
I suggest you pay for a sub, Play for a little bit and if it still happens , Close the game right away and contact Blizzard and explain the situation, I’m 99% sure you will get a refund. Especially if you link them to your post.
Make sure you stop playing as soon as you know though so you have more chance of your refund.
You can also just try the PTR and check if you have any issues.
Has this been fixed by now? Can‘t currently test it out myself
I can confirm I’m also having these issues on my late 2017 iMac 27in, 3.8ghz i5 with Radeon pro 580 8gb, with 8gb 2400mz RAM. Playing on settings level 5 with render scaled to 50% (1440p)
I have had these issues for over 6 months now - I have uninstalled and reinstalled multiple times, I’ve tried every tip and trick posted on these forums. I’m now just fed up and have unsubbed. Other games work fine, I can run bootcamp and play stuff through Steam no problem, but WoW is not optimised.
Really unhappy, been playing on Macs for almost 10 years now without much of a problem.
As a mac user with previous lag free gameplay, I can confirm that this issue still isn’t fixed. Just resubbed today after 6 months of no playin and it still laggin
I guess Shadowlands is off the table as long as I don’t go pc?
I would even dare guessing they are ditching the game and do it on purpose… Cancelled my sub 6 months ago, came back here to check on progress & status… see if things would be better… lol Blizz still a bye bye for me…
So, been reading US thread and what you trying to tell us is that before patch 8.3 everything went fine and after the patch the drivers that Apple and Intel had became buggy… right Blizzard, right…
The issue is still going strong. I had no problems in the last 6 months then a few weeks ago all of a sudden the game became unplayable. I have 10-15 sec freezes in dungeons every minute. I do not have any problems in raids.
OSX version: 10.15.7
CPU: Intel Core i7
GPU: Radeon pro 460 4 GB
Have someone tried playing on Big Sur update? Is wow still crashing as before?
I updated my iMac Pro yesterday and playing WoW without any issues. Daily quests, rares in Icecrown, M+ and even our last guild heroic raid - everything was perfect.
btw, about crashing:
- I decrease level of Particle density to LOW;
- I turn off hardware acceleration in every other app running in parallel with WoW - especially discord and my crashes decreased to 1 on month…
This morning I updated my iMac 2019 to Big Sur. Everything went well untill I opened World of Warcraft. The moment the game launches in fullscreen mode, my Imac crashes. Tried it with other fullscreen games and there scaling is off. There’s apparently no way to alter this. No solution at hand at the moment. So no game time in the meanwhile. Uninstalling Big Sur doesn’t feel right at the moment.
I have the same issue, the Macbook crashes and reboots as soon as I lunch WoW from the Launcher.
Nice, so we are still stuck with BOOTCAMP…
Macbook 16, 5300m. Had no issues until installed Big Sur… now its a stutterfest. Having to use Bootcamp to play at the moment.
Disconnect mouse and try with touchpad. Works with no issues! Also works with older, non-gaming mice!
This actually helped, thanks! Though, I wonder why connected mouse causes seemingly graphics-related issues…
Hi everyone, last night I’ve installed Big Sur 11.1 on my iMac and it seems that WOW works like a charm. Nog more crashes. Big ups for Apple!
So with the new update everything is ok? Can u play smoothly on retail wow without crashes? Last question, are you using a Mac with intel graphics? Thx
