When scrolling chats or windows in options I’m now finding that scrolling bounces back up and won’t stay at the end of the scroll display.
Once maps are opened if I zoom in using mouse scroll and then zoom back out it then automatically zooms back in and there’s no way to see the whole map again without closing it and re-opening it.
There’s a similar topic in the US Mac dedicated thread but I couldn’t add to it as that forum requires a level 10 character on a US server which I don’t have.
This is using Magic Mouse, yes I’m quite happy using Magic Mouse - or was until now. I do have a Razer Naga Trinity but they no longer make drivers compatible with modern macOS.
This is happening on a 2020 iMac with MacOS Sonoma 14.5
I have the same issue and it’s making the game unplayable along with the UI scaling issues and buttons that just shut down the game. Would love to know whether these things are being worked on or not. Was a thing in beta too.
after the ^and ¨ characters causing game crash, I thought this one is an issue only I have, I was wrong. The only way to reach some down to scroll parts is by clicking the arrow down on the scrollbar if there are any (like in the option / settings) but in chat there ain’t, at least not for me. very annoying problem indeed
Whilst we are at it I used to be able to pan with right mouse click on the screen running WoW whilst still retaining focus on another app on another screen… it tries but snaps back to the original location until I left click to focus the app. The new mouse driver seems a bit of a regression.
Got the same issues brought up in this thread, with the broken scrolling being the most intrusive for gameplay. Hoping they fix it soon.
MBP with M1 Pro
bumping for Bliz to maybe reply to this. Going into the new expansion with this bug is very annoying. especially when scrolling up and down on the chat window or even vendor windows
Is it only the trackpad or problem with mouse as well? Razer brand is notorious for their malfunctions and sometimes scrolling the wheel in one direction results with a unexpected jump in the opposite direction. Breathe out warm and moist air out of your mouth directly into the mechanism, without taking it apart, this should at least temporarily correct it.

Spam scroll and watch for opposite color spikes in the graph.
I know that my own mouse is faulty, but I’ve experienced this bouncing effect on PC as well with minimap and combat log. Sometimes it will consistently occur within the game while the problem temporarily disappears with any other scroll window everywhere else. I have tried reducing the number of lines per scroll in Windows as well but it made no difference.
Sensitivity seems much higher within the game where many of these scrolls wouldn’t even register in the test I linked. You can try scrolling the mouse wheel VERY GENTLY and the line graph won’t shift upwards or downwards, will only change to the opposite color and remain steady. Sometimes this action, which isn’t even considered a proper default 3-line scroll anywhere else will result in 2 movements inside of the the game window.
I’m really shocked this hasn’t been looked into… it must be there for any QA/dev with a Mac and Magic Mouse to see and it’s really ruining the experience. The mouse driver pre 11.x didn’t do this and worked impeccably.
Can Blizz respect ALL players and stop catering to the 0.5% doing Mythic raid.
People have paid your company for a game, a subscription and some early access and yet you do not deliver a functional product.
In many cases this makes you purchase wrong items without refund options because of the bounce back.
Map is unusable in many cases and let’s not mention the mini map.
The early access came at FULL price and the game is still today riddled with bugs that block achievements.
Blizz how many of your playersbase are playing in the RACE TO WORLD FIRST vs how many just play the rest of the content.
Show some respect to your customers, at least an answer from your services.
NOTE: The mouse issues started with pre-patch 11.0. It worked fine in 10.2.7.
I have now decided to reduce my engagement to the game drastically (No HC raid, No PVP, No M+) because this is making the game experience very frustrating.
Its not a sensitivity issue, its a input recognition issue.
When you place two fingers on the touchpad it is seeing that as “mouse wheel up” either instantly or if you are scrolling, when you release your fingers… So you scroll to the bottom of the page and when you release your fingers the system does “mouse wheel up”.
You can test this by going to keybinds, clicking on an unassigned key and just placing 2 fingers on the trackpad, this will instantly see the two finger touch as “mouse wheel up”
Some code somewhere is recognising two fingers as “mouse wheel up” before a movemebt with fingers is made.
I had this issue too since yesterday. I had another dongle (spare mouse) plugged in as my main mouse has been misbehaving lately. I decided to unplug everything else but the main mouse and as it happens that fixed my issue with my ghost text scrolling and map zooming. I hope this works for other people too
