[Mac] Whoops! Looks like something broke BLZBNTAGT00001393

I currently have WoW installed on my Mac.

I have been getting this error (BLZBNTAGT00001393) for the last few days. I only have Classic WoW installed at present (although the error is with the shared launcher, not the game).

When I go to launch the game from the Battle.Net desktop app, I see that the ‘play’ button is a darker shade of blue, and doesn’t do anything when pressed. Below that ‘Play’ button, is a progress bar (filled about 1%) and a an icon with a download symbol. Clicking on that icon makes the ‘Play’ button change to ‘Update’ then ‘Updating’ immediately after.

After a few seconds, an error come up, and in full:

Whoops! Looks like something broke. You could try restarting Battle.net.
[OK] button

Clicking ‘OK’ results in the Battle.net desktop app looking normal (the Play button looks normal etc). Clicking ‘Play’ launches the game (Classic WoW Era / Anniversary) as normal.

Upon quitting the game, the Play button turns into ‘Update’. Pressing that causes a BLZBNTAGT00001393 error, clicking OK makes the play button return to normal, and you can launch the game as usual (interestingly, the game is still working after yesterday’s weekly server downtime).

I clicked on the BLZBNTAGT00001393 link yesterday; that link goes to a page that says:

‘One of Blizzard Agent’s backup files is missing or corrupted and the Blizzard Agent can’t recover itself as a result’

And suggests running the repair tool, and posting to Technical support if that doesn’t work.

I have also : deleted and reinstalled the Battle.net desktop app, but the error remains.

Given the type of error, I am scared of losing my account for cheats (also known as hacks), despite the fact I use a dedicated Macbook Pro for WoW (no software installed apart from WoW after a clean install of MacOS), and I also use the inbuilt trackpad and keyboard only, and only I can log in to the laptop, and I don’t use it for work (from home or otherwise), or coding etc. Nothing but WoW.

I would be grateful for advice on how to proceed. I think Blizzard Agent is part of the Battle.Net app, yet reinstalling that didn’t work.

I can still play WoW, but would like to get Agent working as soon as possible!

Thank you for your advice

Solved : moved game folder out ,and reinstalled battle.net, and the whole game, and the error has’t reoccured!
