Is there a way to cast wild spirits at the current target without placing it?
Same with flare and tar trap?
I dont want a mouse cast i want to cast at my current target or focus target with a single button???

hey,
Not possible in the current state of the game.
They are not targeted abilities.
If you want faster traps, flare and WS, just use macros like this:
#showtooltip
/cast [@cursor] instert spellname
It casts the spell instantly at your mouse cursor.
This is the way.
So why does the game understand @cursor but not at selected target??? Its 2021 ffs
The devs have intentionally designed the abilities to work that way.
They want the additional level of difficulty that comes with aiming/manually positioning such abilities, to be kept as part of the gameplay.
Imagine /cast [@target] Freezing Trap
Well if its not moving it will hit… if its moving it wont… imagine that eh?
just git gud at landing traps xD jk
it would be quite nutty
You didn’t need to put that “jk” at the end, the statement is true.
I mean, all due respect to OP, don’t mean to come off as rude, but asking for a “skillshot” ability to become a “targeted” ability through macros is just lazyness. Traps aren’t even that hard to place, specially with the [@cursor] conditional, which I honesly only use on Steel Trap because it’s the one I usually want coming off quick, the others I have on normal cast and I don’t have any issues, and this is coming from an average player. Sure, it gets some using to, but I mean how fun can things actually be if you can do them perfectly right of the bat? A learning curve isn’t bad, and regarding traps there’s barely a learning curve at all.
The game already has plenty of targeted abilities as it is, in my opinion it even has too much of them.
It’s really just a matter of practicing and getting better at it.
Plus, through macros you can have the already stated [@cursor] conditional but also the [@player] conditional which will place the trap right at your feet (basicly like traps used to work before), which I use on my disengage also for Steel Trap. Those 2 conditionals are already a lot of help as it is.
Then theres the fact you say they want skill but there’s an addon for everything lol… so they should ban all these addons too. Addon to show you what to press and what path to take… its literally addons playing the game for half the people
I’m assuming it’s a reply to me, but I got no notification. Anyway.
I didn’t say that, I only used the word “skillshot”, which is the right name for that kind of skills, if I am not mistaken.
However, I kind of agree regarding the addons, I think it’s kinda ridiculous how dependant on addons so many players became.
Sure I use a few, but it’s more QoL stuff, like the dmg meter, one to manage battle pet teams (basicly a better battle pet menu window), and Tom Tom which is turned off most of the times, only turn it on when I really need to know the exact spot of something.
I personally dislike addons that “play the game for you”, so I completely understand that POV.
