Macros gone?

My gpu settings and all macros (since 2015) disappeared …what is going on/ also cant make new ones

I am really sorry to hear that, recreating all macros might be indeed a little annoying. :frowning:
What you can try, is to look up a file that stores the macros for your character. The file is called : macros-cache.txt and it will be located in the WTF folder.

The path to the file, should look like this :

World of Warcraft_retail_\WTF\Account{Account ID}{Realm}{Character Name}

There should be two files, a macros-cache.old and macros-cache.txt
Delete the macros-cache.txt and rename macros-cache.old to macros-cache.txt
Restart the game. Macros should be restored!

Please check the WTF folder as well - as it might have became Read Only for some reason.

  1. Right click the WTF folder and select Properties
  2. On the General Tab, uncheck Read-only
  3. Click OK
  4. On the Confirm Attribute Changes window, confirm that Apply changes to the folders, sub-folders, and files is selected
  5. Click OK to apply changes
