Macro's seem to have a delay added or fail to work at all at times

I have abilities set-up with /stopmacro to prevent myself fatfingering an ability when Spinning Crane Kick or Fists of Fury is active on my Windwalker Monk.

Ever since 11.2 hit I feel like I have to exert a lot more force to get an ability to work and it feels there is some delay in it triggering, as if Blizzard added the delay that should be on only the 1-button rotation thing to macro abilities.

Example for Tiger Palm:
#showtooltip Tiger Palm
/stopmacro [channeling:Fists of Fury]
/stopmacro [channeling:Spinning Crane Kick]
/cast Tiger Palm

When I click Tiger Palm and other abilities it feels like it’s not responding half the time or simply fails to do anything at all even standing right in front of the mob and targeting them without Spinning Crane Kick or Fists of Fury being active. Something that doesn’t seem to happen when using the ability without the macro.

Can someone confirm they’re experiencing the same?

Hey mate, I have the same problem since 11.2 with Evocation

I was almost thinking I was alone in this, since I don’t see many more people talk about this, despite many using /stopmacros as well, as several class/spec guides suggest using them.

It’s a known issue, at least over at the Peak of Serenity site and Discord. I’ll see if I can find a direct link to a post about it.

Edit: Maybe not quite the same as you’re experiencing but there does seem to be some shenanigans resulting from SCK.

11.2 Macro update
If you are using the Don’t Clip macros from the guides, remove the line about Spinning Crane Kick since you can now use other instant cast abilities inside of it. If you were using the general /stopmacro [channeling] function then we recommend going to the specific one in the guides so you can cast non-channels and non-cast abilities during SCK

  • Note: Vivify still counts as a cast ability even if it’s instant due to how Vivacious Vivification is coded.
  • If you’re using the old macro still, there appears to be an odd delay after using SCK. If you’re experiencing this, just another reason to update the macro.
