Maelstrom Weapon, Enh healing and mana issues

I wonder why Paladin’s Word of Glory costs no mana. And you will say that it costs them Holy Power.

Well, Retri’s Word of Glory heals twice the amount than Enhancement’s Healing Surge. But then Retri Pala has to choose whether to spend Holy Power on attack or on healing. This is exactly the case for Enh Shamans too.

Word of Glory is instant. If we want instant Healing Surge, we have to spend 5 Maelstrom Weapon stacks to make it happen. Which puts us exactly in the same situation: should I use them on attack or healing skill?

So why don’t we get free instant heals if Retri Paladins do?

But wait, because that’s not all of it. Retri Paladins have other source of self healing (this one consumes just mana): Flash of Light. It does 50% more healing than our Healing Surge.

Retri Paladins have a lot of armor, great defensive skills and great self healing for a damage spec. They are nothing like us. We have lame healing that costs a lot of mana and no survivability unless we pop our only defensice cooldown: Astral Shift. It has a long cooldown, lasts for a short time and gives us survavibility that should be baseline for mail-wearing class.

But without solution, it’s just complaining. So here is solution:

  • Make Maelstrom Weapon to work as it was in MoP: every stack should reduce mana cost of spells by 20% (100% reduced mana costat 5 stacks)
  • Make every Maelstrom Weapon stack to increase healing done by 20% (100% increased healing at 5 stacks); if you think this will be OP, then look at this: right now baseline Healing Surge gives us almost 5% HP (at decent ilvl). With 5 stacks of MW we could heal for around 9% (around 17% with critical heal). 17% is HUGE, right? Wrong. Retri Paladins have it baseline, mana-free and also a second heal if they have no Holy Power
  • Finally give us real survivability (we were begging you for it for years!): grant us permanent baseline aura that reduces reduces our damage taken by 30-40% (that should put us at the same survivability level as other classes)
  • Give us some more real defensives (the one we had in MoP: Shamanistic Rage (usable while stunned) and Ancestral Guidance (20% of all damage done returns as healing)

Or strip all the other classes of their survivability and watch them squeal.

And what’s with 30 min Lightning Shield buff? Why isn’t it one hour like weapon enhancements? You took away Frostbrand and only-while-in-combat Flametongue, but you reduced the Lightning Shield to 30 min, so we would have another button to press while in combat in M+? Because M+ sometimes last more than 30 min. So our Lightning Shield doesn’t even last the whole dungeon. Just make it last one hour…

And put Tremor and Windfury totem out of global cooldown. Having a Fear and Charm removal that we can’t use because it’s always on global cooldown when Fear is coming is just ridiculous.

At this point I am really tired of how you treat the only class I can bear to play. You really did great work by making Enhancement much more engaging than just having to spam Stormstrike. You finally listened to the community (i.e. about the Searing Totem removal) but you are still blind and deaf to all the other issues.
