atm we sort of know of current villains like Xal’atath and even the possible return of queen Ashara, but what about 2 other villains that have there faith currently wraped in mystery, Magatha Grimtotem and Sire Denathrius?
last we seen Magatha Grimtotem we handed her the Doomstone and left her in the shaman order hall and Sire Denathrius still cozy up in his sword Remornia.
how you think they could bring them back as good villains?
love to see Magatha Grimtotem as a major villain as she isnt a cosmic entity but still seem to have cunning talents and knowledge over great and powerful artefact like the Doomstone that we know not much about.
and Sire Denathrius seems to be the true master mind in the shadow lands as most of Zovaals supposed scemes were actually Sire Denathrius his doing and his Nathrezim. and since the Nathrezim already infiltrated the void im sure he is probably up to date of Xal’atath moves to.
Is pretty much irrelevant as a threat. If she pops up she will be canon fodder. If she betrayed the Horde again, or Azeroth, she will this time be executed (as she should have been by Garrosh already)
The Jailer invited Denathrius. Denathrius may have schemed something but thats about it. In a direct confrontation with his brother he would have gotten steamrolled. The Natherzim also still helped the Jailer even after he escaped.
They kept Denathrius alive because the community liked him. He was supposed to be killed off at first.
she should have indeed but didnt and is still around and also in possession of the Doomstone which the quest back then made clear was a immensely power artefact yet not stating what it actually does so giving the writers clear open playfield to do as they please. but that would alter her previous motive of just controlling all taurens under her reign which was pretty mundane.
Sire Denathrius isnt indeed known for his strength and he even overestimated us when he lost of the adventures, but if he’s truly cunning as they made us belief he was he wouldn’t make that mistake so soon again.
as for retconning the sh but still able to keep it can be easily made saying Xertas morthas wasn’t the proto place but merely a back up station to clone certain celestial bodies. as that would also give a explanation of sire Denathrius evil corrupted personality as if he was the " main creation" and in xertus mortas would be his proto type then were did his corruption came from as he was shellfish and arrogant even before Zovaals fall. and you would think if he was the main creation they would at least caught that malfunction after the proto type. so i personally i want to belief Xertus mortas isn’t what we think it was and was merely a facility to replace the pantoum of death . and Sire Denathrius is the real deal and not just some robot or first one creation.
The Doomstone is in Nobundos possession. Her claim to protect it was met with asceticism and wasnt believed.
The Zeriths exist for every cosmic plane. Not just Shadowlands. They served as the blueprint for the first ones. They ain’t going to retcon the First Ones.
Its called being sentient. Our Titans are the same. Many of our races are like that after they became flesh as well.
The Jailer was turned into what we saw in Zerith Mortis when he died. Denathrius got absorbed before this happened. They are the first ones creation.
thats why i said "so i personally i want to belief " that wasn’t a statement just my idea of how they could retcon it
Sentient that way is a trait from living things not robots ( unless specific programmed.) and if he was created just like his proto type suggest then it would make it so he was programmed. and seeing his main function was to oversee the rehabilitation process in Ravandreth then you would think the first ones would check on those kind of flaws after keeping the proto type out of commission. unless he was hit by similar curse as the curse of flesh that we didn’t know about i don’t see it otherwise happen.
i personally think the " everything is a robot" needs to be retconned anyway.
Who said they aren’t living things? They have souls in the very least, that we know. Magic is the word. I mean Dwarfs, Gnomes, Gnolls, Humans, Mogu etc etc are all “living beings” due to magic too as all these races were made out of stone by the Titans.
yeah how about we don’t retcon an entire expansion which was actually great by the way just because you seem to be one of the people who hasn’t read a single quest in their entire lifetime
Shadowlands was great, Sire Denathrius was great and Zovaal was great too
hope Blizzard brings him back soon although I imagine it will be after these 3 expansions
Grimtotem as some fodder while being in cohorts with Azshara. No reason for her to go with the void and the legion is gone.
Denathrius: Somewhere during our clash with the void. Hes most certainly in cohorts with the void lords anyhow. Unless they wanna keep him for after the Void Lords when they go more into the first ones.
Magatha has been built up in the background for so long it’d be rather disappointing if she simply ended up as ‘fodder’.
I do think it would have made sense for her to show up during Dragonflight but at some point in the future she could easily be the main antagonist of a content patch.
Denathrius was a charming chap, but in such a terrible expansion that I want to see the back of, in every aspect.
I don’t know how I feel about him to be honest…
As for Magatha…I thought she might show up during Dragonflight, due to the few references with the Primalists and that whole thing, but obviously that didn’t happen. Who knows.
I doubt she will show up in Midnight, but we do have potential in TWW and TLT
