Decided to hop into the game and play with my mage.
Every single game Melee will leave whomever they are fighting and they will all attack whatever mage they see and then happely continue fighting who they were fighting.

Mages are really only designed to PvP in arenas with a rogue and/or a healer.
We’re pretty much pathetic anywhere else, most of what we have is actively worse than what other classes have, with a few exceptions.
And then there’s certain classes that just auto-counter us like Druids and DKs.
Hey there, I started mage pvp like 3 weeks ago and got 1800 in rss today. Played almost only frost with couple of games as arcane just to take more perspective. Here is my 5 cents:
Mage is tough to class to learn in PvP if you are playing only shuffle and have no fixed 2s / 3s team. The reason behind that is you are playing high mobility class with defensives focused on control and mitigating damage. You gotta spend some time in understanding positioning, how and where to move when you are trained and learn how to juke. This is when you get a grip on how your spec works.
Almost every game in rss will result in you and 3 melee players and every round you will be tunneled. That will cause frustration and even will make you not want to play this class anymore however current rss meta is probably best to learn how to play under pressure. Once you learn that it will transfer very well into your overall pvp skills.
My advice dont give up and work on concepts i provided above. It will take some time but trust me every game you win feels very good and rewarding.
Good luck !
I never play Arena. Arena is 1 aspect of the PVP game play. Not that easy to “position” in a bg with 10 t 15 other players in an uncoordinated team fight
