Hello everyone, Yall think Mage will be easier to play in Shadowlands than Azeroth?
I mean mages require alot of Brain to play imo.
I was thinkin of main Frost Mage into SL, but you guys think the Skill level Will be lower than Azeroth or y think it Will be same?
Thanks guys
Well frost is easier than fire. Only difference from bfa frost and sl frost is you get a double shatter, likely glacial will be dead and we will be chucking out loads of ice lances. Replace essences for covenent abilities and ya done.

Like if y compare frost mages difficulty against like a MM Hunter ? Hunter is much easier right?
Suppose yh, but frost is mainly a whack-a-mole spec. Just hit the stuff that glows up, chuck in a few ice lances after a brain freeze proc, frost bolt for filler, hit icy veins and frozen orb when they are off cd.
Whats hard about frost. Spam icebolt, hit the glowy buttons. Use orb on CD for ST, or use with blizz for AoE. It’s not far off BM at all. Probs about the same buttons to press.
Frost bolts filler same as cobra
Lance is spender same as kill command
Flurrys a hit me when glowy button like barbed shot
Blizz is AoE like multishot
Orb is big CD like bestial wrath
IV is big cd like aspect of the wild
Both play very similar, bm is more about timings. Like barb makes pets stomp, multishot makes pets AoE for 5 secs. Would honestly say frost is easier to play. Obviously there’s nuance to it like shattering etc but frost isn’t complex. Very easy to transition from hunter to frodt ,rotation wise.
Only main diff is no pets to tank, but you get slows instead to kite. And frost has to cast more, where as hunters are more mobile.
Nowadays you can’t just count how many buttons you press to see how difficult the class is. Every class has very few spells to choose from.
What is ridiculously easy about BM is the fact that you are ranged with only instant casts so you have pretty much the advantages of both melee and ranged but you don’t have any of the disadvantages.

Well. I pvp a lot as arcane. Missing Charged Up! is a huge set-back and my mage has become a true sitting duck pvp-wise compared to other classes and specs that I play.
you have touch of the magi that works like charged up you dodo
Charged up was instant and didn’t require a target/los. That’s a big change for pvp.
That depends on the content, Frost is harder than Fire in PvP.

Charged up! ≠Touch of the Magi you dodo.

but charged up was built into touch of the magi, so you still can get 4 charges on demand.
Its not on demand in a pvp situation or out of combat.
what do you mean on demand?
There is a world between instant 4 charges from Charged up! and Touch of the Magi. I agree the result is equal. But the process is quite different when youre pvp’ing.
We get a 25% damage bonus. But at a cost.
Touch has a cast time. This means your 4 Charges have a cast time, means you can get kicked in it, get it? And you have to keep the target in range and LOS. One doesn’t simply blow a CD and boom, instant 4 charges anymore. You need something you can hurt. Gently Squeezed Toad comes to mind. And more turret caster issues because apparently Arcane was too mobile -__-
There’s also the whole “Touch being a DPS CD” thing. Taking choice away is always bad. And considering you don’t lose Arcane Charges when in combat and they start to disappear only after some time when out of combat, there might be a situation in which you want to get 4 charges NOW and sit on that DPS cooldown a bit longer, perhaps when you burn some defensive CD out of your opponent. You don’t have that option anymore. You get those 4 charges, you have to use them, as you just used “Storing 50% of dmg done” bomb on target. Otherwise all you’ve done is get 4 charges at the cost of decent DPS cooldown too.
on demand = a short cooldown.
A class in on a short cooldown?
what are you talking about
Actually never mind, I miss took what I replied too… I thought he was replying me what I said about Frost being harder than Fire in PvP.
My mistake.
