It’s weak right now, but you have no way of knowing how good or bad it will turn out at level 60. You keep mentioning dispels. The way Fingers of Frost was implemented in Wotlk was that it procced alongside Frostbite. This means there’s no way in hell someone will dispel themselves AND your stacks before you get a chance to use them. Unless if there’s a focused army of dispelers following you everywhere, at which point you might have a stalker issue.
You talking BG’s or open world? If it’s bg’s I kind of agree as all you meet are pala stacked teams which is painful to most every class at the moment. If it’s open world then maybe it’s a you problem.
To be honest, mage is the most broken class in pvp right now. I strongly belive it is a skill issue here. Look on youtube how mages play, they are honestly insane and i could easily take a rogue 4 lvls over me. To be fair, i have been gladiator and rank 14 multiple times.
you cant expect every class to dominate in every aspect of the game in lvl 25, first phase of the game… literally have a whole year of phases. when do ppl understand this xD

Don’t forget the this issue is more complicated than class balancing.
If horde in Ashenvale, you lose becauase Alliance outnumbers you.
If solo queued in WSG, you lose becauase premade auto-wins.
No amount of mage buffing will fix these :')
So you are telling us that Mage in Vanilla PVP isnt good? I am quite sure we got at least 15years of data that says otherwise.
In open world 1v1 situation mage is okay, for wsg we are TERRIBLE tho.
People just stack priests/hunters/palas and run you over like nothing. You need to hardcast, the casts are long and the damage is nothing to write home about.
Spamming living bomb achieves nothing in bg’s, it’s easily heal-able and just interrupts cc’s.
Also if you let a mage cast 4 arcane blasts in a row which is legit 10 seconds, maybe you deserve that one-shot. Even just hitting the mage will push the cast back and it’s done, stacks fall off.
