Mage race? why?

Hello,

I want to know why most mages are (human).
Exactly why that racial and what situations it’s a must for compared to other racials.

Why would I pick human and exactly why would that give me an advantage in arena.

Or what race is in your opinion better, I want to know a situation where you would use that certain racial and why that’s the best (in your opinion).

Situation I mean:
-Lets say I am stunned as human, now I trinked, blink and poly. That’s a situation I know can be in handy.

But is this the must go to (human racial) for most situations for surviving or dealing damage?

I want to see different aspects, prefer to get answers by high rated mages & why they choose that race over others from a competitive view.

I might not be that high-rated of a player and chose my race more because of a personal preference rather than the racials’ strength, but Void elf does have its use on several occasions. So many people don’t expect me to use the racial and appear out of a pillar with the counterspell ready when they’re trying to cast a heal and top themselves up! Throwing the teleport towards one end of the pillar, proceeding to chase the enemy from the other end and then using the teleport to catch them can be quite convenient too. Or, you know… having a way of closing off the distance when you’re Arcane locked or all your shimmer charges are gone. Void Elves are nice! :slight_smile:

Well, he did specify playing on the higher-level sort of gameplay where things such as racial do matter and might make or break the game. It’s not the case for 99% of the WoW’s population, but there are cases where it does matter.

Then i’l assume its for the 2% extra secoundary stats ( Assuming medal & racial share Cd )

See, thing is… thanks to human racial, you’re able to spec into relentless instead of medallion (shortens all the CC you get) and still keep the racial to get out of crucial stuns when it is most needed. This is where the strength of that racial truly is, I think.

^this. It is mostly stuns that can’t be dispelled so you need the human trinket for those. The first fear, poly, incap will likely be dispelled and then with relent + dr the following cc will be short enough to sit.

mages are op itself you don’t need any racial benefit you can play panda and it’ll work well.

ppl used to be a human mage because of the free trinket so they can replace it with a dps one.

Best alli racial for mage now i would go with dark iron dwarf sense you can escap roots and stop bleeds and get some good def against physical dmg which all of them are your worst enemy. Add on the a dps buff …
