NGL I’d take it more seriously from a main char and not a forum-dump alt.

I’m sure you would. But when I did share on my main character I got Stalked and doxed because someone didn’t like my opinion on the topic.

Thank you. This is what I have been trying to say. But I have been on the receiving end of insults and ridicule. Granted I have given some back, but I have tried to steer it back to topic.

I made a very clear statement about what I like about the game. I am still waiting for the other parts to acknowledge and reply to it.

No, because it’s a topic that I am very passionate about.

I’ll also point out that there have been 2/3 other individuals who have been religiously trying to insult and attack me because they don’t like my opinion.

And as I said, it’s a thread with such polar opposite opinions that they often turn out like this.

I actually only came to the thread to make one post. I have also stated multiple times that I reached a point where I wasn’t interested in discussing it anymore.

But if I’m responded to I need to reply. So that’s what I have done.

Mate, since you like going back and quoting stuff from ages ago, go back and read the posts that lead up to the comment.

Look at the way you were talking to me, and talking about my opinion. Look at the names I was being called by Doc.

Now why do you think that I may have on the spur of the moment taken a small step out of line and said “that was a tin foil hat theory” after the way you two have been speaking to me for the couple of days. And now YOU are playing the victim. I think not!

Ofcourse they are hiring professionals to improve engagement. Ofcourse they know who their target audience is. Ofcourse they can predict what people do, and how they will react.

But you keep making out it’s a sinister activity.

But you don’t consider that might be exactly what we want.

I play video games for an escape, to be taken on an adventure and an experience where I don’t need to think about the outside world.

The difference I have over some people (apparently), is that I know when it’s time to stop and go back to reality, when to put my credit card away. That’s called self control, and you’ll be surprised at how many other players can do that.

You’re saying FOMO is bad because they target people.

I’m saying. Hey I want this. This is exactly the type of game and experience that I want. Blizzard are providing that for me, and I’m having a great time. And I put the game down and get on with life when I’m finished.

That’s not a bad thing. That’s how it’s designed to be played.

Are people going to fall victim? Sure, but again that is their problem. People fall victim to all sorts of normal every day activities which are considered healthy. Some people exercise too much, eating too much fruit rots your teeth… the list can go on. We’re human, we all have our faults… hell I even had a pizza tonight and I said I was giving up (that’s tomorrows me problem).

Just accept the game is design a certain way because people enjoy it being that way. they’re not going out of their way to get you. But they are a business, they are allowed to promote themselves to make more money.

Now I respect you opinions enough to actually present a decent and respectful reason why I feel differently and disagree with you.

lets get it very clear. I very much respect that you have your own opinion on this topic. It happens to be one that I disagree with. But you’re allowed to continue to own your opinion as you like.

You have attacked me for my opinion and what you seem to think was my unwillingness to discuss it. But since I have presented a discussion point to you, you have just stated that I’m not respecting your opinion, and you’re using out of context quotes to “prove” that.

If you want to be taken seriously maybe you should actually read it, and then you’ll understand why I don’t agree with you and why it sounds a little tinfoil hat.

in my opinion, they hire professionals to make the game more entertaining and enjoyable to play. And that’s what it does for me. And I don’t want that to be changed. This is a discussion forum for a video game. We’re supposed to talk about things we like and dislike.
