But +15 gear is better than +2 gear.
+15 ksm reward is better than nothing if you do only +6 same goes for portals.
Well see i do not give 2 about the achievements exactly as you, and that is why u want to give them to people doing harder content, because you know full well no one watch achi or FoS and you just want to handle them nothing.
I want cosmetics that make people go “woooh that is so cool” that make people want to try and get them.
Like the WoD polearm made me go get gold challenge when I saw it.
it was never a challenge, it was about gear. since it didnt scale your gear down as you got higher gear. challenge was more the proving grounds and CM of pandaria
Yeah it is. And that’s another problem. Or at least the valor cap and upgrde locks are. It would be perfectly fine if the base items that drop are better… but it sould be possible to grind +2 for a low base items and valor to upgrade them to max level. That way ppl unwilling to do more difficult things than +2 still had a chance to get max ilvl gear - just way slower than those doing +15s.
Exactly. But doing hard stuff is just something you personally need to know about and maybe have the option to pose with it, hence link the achivement so others.
But things like skins, mogs and mounts should be available to everybody in one way or another, because they are esssential to enjoy this RPG. Looks have a high impact on how you can express your ideas with your character and getting locked out from doing so just drives ppl away.
Come on, mage tower was not about max gear lvl. It was certain ilvl to cheese tactics. Like with proving grounds. Gear scaled incorrectly so if you took some items off run was much easier then equiped highest ilvl.
Hey, you’re really good at it! You found another point to impove this game. The same thing I said about M+ of course works for raids as well! Either go do it on mythic to earn the mythic items directly or do it on normal to earn currency to upgrade the normal base item to mythic ilvl.
But that would still be possible this way. Can’t you see that? You can do hard stuff and get the cool / good items way faster than other ppl doing it on easy mode. That way everybody would be happy: you get your hard challenge (which is more fun to you) and your cool rewards, while other ppl can take it easy and still have the option to at least one day get the same cool stuff.
In multiple different instances, as a matter of fact.
I complain about it when levelling. Right now I’m levelling a hunter and every mob dies to Aimed Shot → Arcane Shot → Kill Shot. If I don’t have Kill Shot yet it’s just Aimed Shot → Arcane Shot → Rapid Fire.
For 12 hours or more.
And that’s without heirlooms. I don’t even know what’ll happen if I equip those.
That is not fun, I’m sorry. And not only that, I think it’s a major contributing factor to WoW’s inability to attract new players, because that kind of gameplay doesn’t teach them anything about the game we all play, and it’s monotonous and boring - and if they go straight to the game we all play they’ll be destroyed by not understanding all the systems yet.
And I can’t do anything about it because everything scales to my level or its minimum level is very low. I got no options - I must have the exact same experience as a new player. Who wins? Well, nobody.
If the game was not scaling I could go to something harder and the new players could go to something easier relative to each of our levels and everything would be fine. You can do that in vanilla, but it was removed by a bunch of people who think they’re very clever because they keep shortening levelling and making it easier so the quests all broke and this was their solution…
Then I get to max level and all the quests are outrageously easy but obviously take quite a bit of time to get through… so I look for something harder, and I do find it sometimes in the form of group quests for 3 or more players - which is apparently what it takes for me to get a challenge at all. But then half of them are immune to slows and roots, nerfing frost mage into the ground, so… yeah.
Something has to be done about the range of difficulties of both levelling and open world content. Obviously we can’t all be expected to have 17 years of experience playing the game - so the game should not be tuned around me. But some of it should! It’s time to grow those players with increasing challenges they can take on by themselves as well.
As TANK in m+ pugs you do everytthing from interupting everything byyourself, positioning, selfhealing,CC and sometimes even doing all DPS
Healer is the same thing MINUS kiting and big dps
but still as a shaman in pugs i mainly interupt …i do CC
so mage tower is a good TEACHING tool for someone who wants to go into m+
it will make you good invidual player
I hope that Blizzard endures the scourge of the monkas and does not give in and ends up becoming the green fire of the warlock. Damn they want everything easy.
I know how you feel.
It took me 197 tries on my warrior and much less on the other tank chars when i did it in Legion. The fight IS difficult and it still has buggy visuals which led to my end way too many times but you will get through it.
Best advice honestly is to take either a few hours, days or even a week break since we’re not on a time limit (unlike the legion version was). I found that after having a break and coming back to try the challenges i could focus more and not be as tense which led to far superior preformance.
This is how i managed to 1 shot the healer challenge on my priest after bashing my druid against it for 89 attempts. Ik it would be horrible so i didn’t immediately go with the priest after completing it on the druid.
1 : I never said TANKS SHOULD NOT DO DPS , Tanks should do DPS but this DPS should not be attributed to a certain figure. When I tank in M+15 or so I try to maximise my DPS but not at the expense of using globals on DPS instead of Defensives.
2 : The tanking elements are still there as you still need to interrupt the adds, and kite the infernals and still take damage from the boss. So while agree,d damage intake might be low but why should I also have a DPS CHECK.
No one seems to be able to answer WHY IS THERE A DPS CHECK IN A TANK CHALLENGE??
And before some person says “Because Blizz said so”, as we all know yes Blizz made it so and yes some people have done it so we are aware its down to player skill to maximise DPS during the encounter.
There is no such requirement in M+ , Raids or ANY OTHER content where tanks can run, You do not see LFG (LF TANK ONLY MORE THAN 6k DPS). So why does this exist in the Mage Tower?
So explain to me why there is a stacking debuff resulting in a DPS Race ?
That’s all I am asking.
Anyone else who posts “Don’t tanks have to do DPS”, or “Tanks SHOULD do DPS”
refer to point number 1.
Another question :
Which is better Tank A (Does little DPS (sub 2-4k) but can self sustain quite easily and needs little healing ?? OR Tank B (Does good “tank” DPS (6-8k) and is super spiky and can be prone to death due to maybe mistiming defensives or using globals to maximise damage?
And you just decide that for them huh?
That’s not how it works.
And many things aren’t. So what’s your point?
Because this is a game. Games are for fun.
And if many people don’t find a certain thing fun, well; it might need a change.
Hyperbole.
No. So people can have a decent challenge and not one that frustrates and irritates.
Because WQs are accessible. Doable.
If WQs would cause people to die over and over and over again I’m 100% sure there would be many complaints.
WoW does for the most part. So YOU live with the fact that a lot of people don’t want to be forced into one single difficulty. Least of all by rude folk such as yourself.
