Mage tower difficulty

I’m trying Bear MT now, with zero bear experience, suboptimal gear not enough vers., I have 7100 HP, and I am only slowly getting better. My main issue (and this is a me-problem) is yeeting myself off the platform because I forget I’m in chicken form and I press Wild Charge. I kid you not. 50% of deaths because of this.

I’m at attempt 120, had to learn how to play bear from scratch, and I’ve gotten to phase 2 a good 15ish times. Best one was getting him to 24%. At the moment I’m taking too much damage, and I’m still learning what defensives I have, so, steep learning curve for me.

But. I know I can do it. I did it on Brewmaster back in Legion on attempt 170 or so, so someone with my scatterbrain can do this kind of stuff. It’s painful, but I love it. xD I hope they don’t nerf, because it teaches persistence.

Some things are mega easy for some (cries at people with 20 attempts) and insanely hard for others. That’s just how it is.

about, it took me 50 tries to get to phase 2 and die.
so mostly likely 3 hours to somewhat 3:30-4:00 hours to get to phase 3.
im almost at 60 tries and counting.

how are you in 120 attempts.
and how did you managed to do 170 attempts on brewmaster.

What do you mean? Because I’m bad? I have adhd, I get distracted a lot when so many things happen. I fall off cliffs, in Legion on my BrM I literally panic rolled off the platform. This stuff is hard for me, but that doesn’t mean I will give up, it’ll just take much longer.

Fair point. i have mild adhd and slower learning curve.

This is exactly what you do in mage tower. You get good and you beat it. Just learn to deal with it all like everybody else who beat the tank challenge.

Just keep smashing your head, you will get it eventually.
I just completed Havoc DH one and it feel so good once you get one down.

Back in legion, guardian druids were one of the easiest to do mage tower on, but no artifact or no legendaries make it ridiculous.

If you’re still having trouble, consider running Siege of Orgrimmar to get socketed gear to gem some haste, 11% is low. Also Nythendra’s seed trinket from Emerald Nightmare is a very good pick, both for haste and the on-demand damage.

This is the character that I used:

I still don’t understand why Blizzard had to disable the Legion legendaries and the weapons. We now have scaling and they would fit into the leveling process. They could still have them activated in old content and no one would complain.

Btw, another really good trinket for agi classes that is super easy to obtain is the “Dragonspine trophy” from TBC Gruul. It’s only 32 ilvl but it is 101 haste with a 20 second ICD, it’

Just in case someone is looking for good trinkets to try out.

I just looked through all the dungeon and old raid drops especially at trinkets, some had really good buffs on procs.

Made the difference for me.

Same, looking at old things for pieces with extra effects is wonderful. I honestly love experimenting old things on those.

Especially Enchants, Weapons, Trinkets are the main source of damage increase there.

For example, 2 x Underrot weapon on Havoc DH was 3.5 % of my total damage in P2 (Dps was around 880/900), that might not seem a lot but it for sure help when you wanna squeeze as much damage as possible.

I wanted to get singing crystal axe it has a big haste buff on it, that paired with one of those trinkets that proc a massive haste buff, I was already at 31% haste I’d imagine I’d of reached like 45%+ if I had that axe if it procced, prehapes even more if I had the trinket with a similar effect.

That paired with drums at the end would mean reaching haste levels of 70%. Be insane. Aha. Watch a unbridled fury pot and a dmg trinket pop off then ,:stuck_out_tongue:

I’m not spending 170k for a tbc axe though.
Even if it’s a low drop chance.

Even the Uldaman 2H mace that proc haste is broken but is super rare “The Jackhammer”, imagine getting it at ilvl 50 with a twink.

Of whom is probably filling that top 1-5% of the playerbase in skill.

I personally think 90% of these are a total waste of effort and time for a reskin. What’s more laughable is some are a cakewalk in comparison to others…shouldn’t they all be ‘gitgud’?

But shoehorning what is probably a good portion of the playerbase just begs for posts like these.
Admittedly I don’t see anything wrong with a challenge.

I’m seriously going to do it again to test out different things, seems like so much fun.

Made me thing how I’ve been time walking dungeons wrong all this time too aha.

This made me laugh… in legion it was free kill after some weeks

When you understood you had to unequip half your gear for the last phase; indeed. Otherwise it became impossible.

So true tho.

Mostly I am surprised in a negative way by “The God Queen fury” challenge, now i understand why there were a lot of enha shaman trashtalking people telling them to “git gud” back in december, acting like their were some sort of good player.

Their challenge basically is " triple cleave the boss using hex or capacitor, and go wolf to walk over 3 runes.

Their challenge is so braindead compared to xylem or kruul, even agatha looks hard compared to that.

I have never attempted it ever, not even back in legion, not even watched a guide and at 4th try was already below 30%, i wiped 3 times sub 30% cause there was a huge internet disservice and I was lagging so much that i was walking over runes and it took the rune like 3 extra seconds to count as “soaked”.
You do not even need cooldowns to break the bubble and the enrage timer is so large compared to xylem p2.

Seriously ridiculous.
